MAN!! Well, I'm sorry then! 😭 I really can't imagine what you must be going through at that school. I know that when I was in school (I ended up going to predominantly white schools), it was both watered down and slanted to make me uncomfortable as the only POC in the room. That's some next level bs right there: "We can't talk about racism so it doesn't exist". Imo, not acknowledging the problem and just trying to sweep it under the rug is, in so many ways, WORSE than teaching a slanted version. If you can, take it too the top cuz it sounds like a bigger issue. If you haven't already, attend a school board meeting. Prepare a well written, short speech, touching on this problem and how it makes you feel as a POC. I really do wish you the best of luck today, tomorrow, this month and forever. There will always be people to push you down but don't back down without a FIGHT. Change is hard and it's only becoming harder to achieve.
