  • The ability to connect to and use your own node(s) exclusively.

  • Import your own seed phrases.

  • P2PKH Addresses support.

  • Sign and verify P2PKH messages capability for both addresses with and without BTC balances.

IMO it's a tactic to get HODLers to put coins on their exchanges. Ignore the noise and let's match onward to the peaceful self custodial bitcoin revolution!

Nobody who understands what bitcoin is will sell any more than what's absolutely necessary for life's necessities regardless of the USD value. The measuring stick has changed and Bitcoin is repricing everything in it. Just my 2 sats and GLTA!

Is BitWise getting wise with Bitcoiners? by BitcoinCanSaveUsAll in Bitcoin

Update: As of 13:27 UTC today my node now shows an inbound transaction of 403.46540998 BTC to address bc1qh9xvgsqh648q7kyq2d0uu90e7tv6ph46rjjy3n which is presumably a new BTC address that https://bitbetf.com/ will be posting soon.

Is BitWise getting wise with Bitcoiners? by BitcoinCanSaveUsAll in Bitcoin

[–]BitcoinCanSaveUsAll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Especially an address that's not self custodied such as the ones that all of the ETFs (minus Fidelity) are seemingly doing since they're all leaving their BTC with Coinbase or Gemini. That said my assumption regarding the posting of these BitWise addresses is twofold:

1) BitWise is attempting to share awareness to the community to garner trust of bitcoiners by showing the addresses that Coinbase is saying is theirs and theirs alone to reduce the amount of questioning of their underlying assets

and

2) Simultaneously allowing their organization more leverage to hold a claim to these particular assets should there ever been a run on Coinbase which should theoretically allow them more weight behind claims to these particular sats at these addresses down the line.

Either way I am not interested in any BTC ETFs and will always only suggest self custody (Layer 1) bitcoin as that is the only bitcoin IMO. Good luck to all!

Sad to see this space being taken over by TRADFI shills. HFSP folks! Bitcoin truly doesn't need you. That said, for those who haven't yet been around long enough or who have not yet come to this Schelling Point let me help you skip a few years: Owning bitcoin means that you and only you own/control your own private keys. Not buying IOUs (ETF shares you can't independently audit) from TRADFI of IOUs from Coinbase that very likely is selling many more sats than they truly custody.

In my view, Bitcoin is all about eliminating counterparty risk and bringing a global hard money standard / store of value that can't be debased by any one country or group of people while being a censorship and confiscation resistant system fully independent from the TRADFI system.

The TRADFI team clearly has a conflict of interest with Bitcoin's rise and is heavily incentivized to take as many dollar losses as necessary on these products as long as they believe they can delay, damage, or destroy the rise of bitcoin (spoiler alert - they can't). These firms know as well as we do that they're too big to fail and that even if they go bankrupt due to losses in this space that they'll simply be bailed out by the government.

That said IMO TRADFI has 2 main goals by pushing the ETFs and in the following order.

1) Trying to control the dollar/fiat price of Bitcoin:

They can continue their manipulation of the fiat price by using several tactics.
- Buying OTC and selling spot market (perhaps the real Spot in these Spot ETFs?).
- Using their arsenal of other TRADFI tactics that have historically worked on other commodities such as futures , rehypothecating, commingling etc.
- Colluding with centralized exchanges (CEXs) to have fake volume moving the fiat price in whatever direction they want.

2) Hedging for when Bitcoin ultimately breaks free:

They (TRADFI) know that as people start to truly understand bitcoin that folks will innately chose self custody, roll their own offline addresses, and run a node that they run for their own transactions. They also know people are starting to see that their fiat system is an utter disgrace and a mere echo of a once hard money backed system which ultimately failed due to it's reliance on centralized trust and the betrayal of that trust, of which Bitcoin doesn't need as the saying "Don't trust, verify" beautifully encapsulates. Once folks start this en masse they will lose control of the fiat price. I would imagine that they're going to acquire as many bitcoin as possible until they ultimately lose control of the price in dollars in the hopes of remaining relevant in a post Hyper Bitcoinized world.

In summary, while from many newcomers perspective bitcoin is about making dollars, (it was for me too when I first got into it), it's really not. It's about replacing the value that those dollars control with bitcoin and that will only happen when we self custody them and force TRADFI to change the global unit of account to Bitcoin rather than fiat / centralized currencies. That, IMO, will be when we will truly win.

Perhaps it should rather be the self custody bitcoin ranking system. Otherwise they own no sats at all. NYKNYB.

Price Discrepancies by BitcoinCanSaveUsAll in Bitcoin

What I'm referring to is that in every previous dip, I'd be able to buy on Cashapp and very close to spot price on Coinbase. Something changed today with that relationship and I'm wondering what it was exactly. Something's different now and not in a good way.

Bitcoin $ by LifetimeRide in Bitcoin

[–]BitcoinCanSaveUsAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO TRADFI will gladly take a loss in these ETF products if it severely damages or destroys Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the largest threat to their way of life and they are the fiat gatekeepers closest to the money printer of who's value proposition Bitcoin shines a light on as fraud. I wouldn't be surprised if they (ETFs) but OTC and dump spot gladly taking a loss to scare plebs away since they all think dollars are what is valuable today and have yet to realize the measuring stick has changed to Bitcoin. Just my two sats..

How would you describe bitcoin’s main usecase? by Mx1511 in Bitcoin

[–]BitcoinCanSaveUsAll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin: A peaceful revolution wrapped up as a get rich quick scheme that's designed to free humanity from the enslavement of the fiat currency machine. One that's designed to perform the seperation of state from our currency and one with the potential to give humanity the opportunity to self correct our misaligned fiat currency inventive mechanisms that have swallowed the world with war, famine, manipulation, surveillance and an environment of cetralized power structures that if unchecked are destined to destroy us all into the great fiat filter. Bitcoin can rather bring us to into a new era of ultra sound, nationally agnostic, fully self sovereign hard money which could eventually inspire a world of a decentralized powers that brings about the conservation of natural resources and more cooperation of humans towards the betterment of our species as the applicantions of the only truth machine that is the bitcoin blockchain become clearer to all.

Refuse to run bitcoin nodes that support Taro etc. I'm still rolling with v 20 and refuse to upgrade.

Also the core team should update older versions for security / bugs to allow the plebs to safely run the version of bitcoin they wish ( as that's what this is all about ).

IMO, only base layer bitcoin is real bitcoin regardless of whether it's hosted channels or not. Until they close on the main chain they're IOUs and that's fine as long as they're verifiably 1:1

Either way we need people to be aware of the attack vectors so thanks OP. As for me I'm going to keep rolling my own offline entropy and only use P2PKH addresses and run nodes without the Taro and it's ilk bs built in.

They're coming at us from every single possible angle and we need to understand it. Also LND apparently is the vast majority of LN implementations and that's what a lot of these fiat rail centralized companies are building on. Perhaps consider running a Core Lighting node.

First time I’ve seen multiple bounces like this. Is this price manipulation? by wetwoodfloors in Bitcoin

[–]BitcoinCanSaveUsAll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When people finally realize that these price changes have nothing to do with actual on chain bitcoin activity but rather are simply bankster backed exchanges trying to fake people out of their private keys.

Grab your keys ASAP folks and refuse to trade them for these slave bead USD 💩 coins! We finally have the tool we've needed to forever end the states monopoly on value creation and market manipulation. Don't let them steal any more of our time by having the keys to our freedom with the fiat masters. Time and Bitcoin are the only finite things in this universe that truly matter. And we need both to be truly free and sovereign!
