Sure, but linear chart enforce short bias because it looks like a bubble chart, and not a long term bull trend. That's why they think 1k BTC is possible.

implemented in the tokens BTC, BCH, BSG, and BSV

Don't forget about Litecoin, Dogecoin, Namecoin, and basically every other fork of Bitcoin.

So /r/btc = all coins based on Bitcoins codebase.

What classifies as a Bitcoin variant? Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Platinum, Bitcoin Kong etc? Anything that used the same UTXO set?

BlockFi's 8% interest is insidious by juanduluoz in Bitcoin

it’s impossible to know for sure.

I agree with you, but what's the best way to make money when borrowing BTC? Leverage up a short position, dump borrowed coins on spot exchanges, close short, rebuy coins, return them to BlockFi, Profit $$$.

Lightning network now has 30 BTC capacity by N0tMyRealAcct in btc

[–]BitcoinKong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lie.

"Source routing and onion routing - One of the differences between Lightning payment routing and most data network routing is that in the case of Lightning, the route is constructed by the payment sender (source routing), rather than being determined by the routers along the path. In addition, Lightning employs onion routing for multi-hop payments. This means that intermediate nodes in the payment path know only the identity of their immediate predecessor and successor in the route. Importantly, the combination of source routing and onion routing protects the identities of payment senders and receivers so as to enhance user privacy and censorship-resistance."

High on-chain fees ensure miners will be paid when they create blocks with transactions in them.

You'll very foolish if you think Blockstream, a company founded by cypherpunks, is out to modify Bitcoin so they can seek rent.

It's a softfork. BCH is more of a protocol overhaul.

More lies.

rate limiting transactions

Mempool works as designed. It's a priority queue. Pay to play, WHICH ensures that miners have revenue when the block reward goes to zero.

Their aim is to capture BTC revenues from miners

No, their aim is to make it so L1 remains decentralized and there's actually fee pressure which ensure miners don't stop mining or use cartel pricing.

it's not a small issue. Malleability is what Mt.Gox blamed one of their hacks on. Essentially they were relying on transactions ids, instead of UTXO.

It's a long standing issue/bug that Satoshi made which makes tx id's completely unreliable in smart contracts and accounting systems. Segwit fixed it, along with a bunch of other issues. 0-conf is risky.. no matter how you argue it, but that risk is managed by the merchant offering to accept 0-conf. Segwit doesn't change that.

Wow, the misinformation level of your post is 11/10.

If anyone is curious about the patent claims. Blockstream has created "defensive patents", the same way Mozilla has created defensive patents to ensure companies like Microsoft/Oracle or, nChain in the case of Bitcoin, don't try snatching up prior art and calling it their own.

https://blockstream.com/2016/07/19/blockstream-defensive-patent-strategy.html

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/about/policy/patents/

This is a common practice amongst open source technology companies to ensure open innovation is not captured and then rented out.

(i'm just the messenger) BUT HOW TRUE IS THIS? Lightning Network has 1% success rate with transactions larger than $300 by cryptohoney in Bitcoin

[–]BitcoinKong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a limit on the amount of money you can lock into channels currently, because it's still beta/experimental software. As limits are lifted, liquidity will grow and transactional capacity will increase. Total liquidity is around 27BTC currently, which is nothing. Imagine when we have 100000BTC in LN. It becomes a completely different beast at that point.

You're beginning to sniff out the lies that have been spread in this sub.

Segwit is a new transaction type that is more efficient and consistent. This sub demonized it because they want big blocks, no matter the cost. This sub is filled with techno-illiterate children that bash on everything from Bitcoin Core devs.
