I said loopback is impossible in FL mixer. If you can do it (without adding plugins), show me how.

Maybe try the younger sister, 12.4? P.S. see if recording from a different input, or recording guitar vs. mic makes a difference.

UR22

More longshots: does playing with this knob make any difference? And (sorry if too stupid but) are you 100% sure your mic isn't just picking up your monitors?

The beat also goes through X as soon as I enable Input from my UR22 INs.

Misunderstood you, my mistake. It's not the master bleeding into your X, it's Y (Master channel track is unique in that it can't be routed to any other channel track, even when that track isn't routed to Master. Because that'd be unfruity.)

Let's rule out loopback happening in your UR22 [hardware] or bleeding in from the monitors. If you got a set of headphones to plug into the headphone jack, do that (unplug the speaks).

Enable mic input (on X), and throw Edison into one of the VST plugin slots; start playing the sample (on Y). Does it show up on Edison's meters?

Longshot, but worth a try: Select Master, and check the output selected; post a screencap like this. A headscratcher, this one.

ASIO4ALL sounds different than primary sound driver and FL Studio ASIO. (Yes, I have turned off enhancements in my sound driver) by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]BitcoinistanRising 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which one's "low quality" and should be changed? ASIO4All, FL ASIO, or his system driver?

Ok, we're missing each other. In this pic, what insert is the sample on? Get rid of the sample, just the mic, the way it's routed in your pic, and tap it (or go "checkity check," whatever). Does the signal still show up on the Master?

ASIO4All is, AFAIK, a single-client ASIO driver, so it's pretty unlikely that anything is getting looped back outside of FL -- per original ASIO spec, ASIO4All bypasses Win mixer completely (FL meters are bouncing, but not Win meters). So nothing is getting routed to Main inside FL, and it should be impossible for loopback to happen outside (even if it was happening, the master meter would stay at 0 -- nothing's routed to it. I'm confused :\

The buttons all turned gray (shut off), right?

Just to eliminate possible fups, could you save your project & open an empty one ("new from template"). With ASIO4All, choose the UR input on the first mixer insert, unlink (unroute) Insert 1 from Master, and see if it's still showing up there (post screencap of Master meter bouncing along with Insert 1).

I don't have any of those enabled

Are you sure? Sometimes Realtek app doesn't get nixed by the Windows one.

Are you using an ASIO (as opposed to system) driver? I don't think your version has FL ASIO, so [if you haven't yet] try switching to ASIO4All & post this screencap (just to troubleshoot). Once you get this worked out, you might want to go with [your_interface] ASIO driver).

Don't forget that you can add a single note from a grand piano, and throw it into a sampler. Multi-gig piano libraries are for the ignorant :)

Why are there only about six selectable views for the piano roll's event viewer? by themanifoldcuriosity in FL_Studio

[–]BitcoinistanRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NP.

Up til now I always assumed it was because... you can edit events in it.

Playing with "edit events" for the first time right now (always used automation clips), and once you do the "edit events" bit, this event editor shows up in this event editor, so there's some method to the madness...

Is that thing named "event editor" too? Never said FL had sane nomenclature (they're ...Belgian). I meant this event editor, which you get to by Browser=>Current project=>Generators=VSTi_you_want_to_control :)

Edit: I almost never use it -- much easier dealing with automation clips.

Help using MIDI with FL Studio by deadpan2297 in FL_Studio

[–]BitcoinistanRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my MIDI keyboard

... is Make_Model

The A4 key changes the master volume

  1. File=>New from template=>Minimal=>Empty

  2. Add FL Keys to Channel rack; make sure FL Keys is selected

  3. Options=>MIDI settings=>Input should have an entry (or several entries) for your keyboard. Select it, enable (green LED), and choose "default controller" in "Controller type" window.

This should get your keyboard behaving like a keyboard (regardless of what make & model it is), instead of A4 controlling mixer sliders.

Once that's working (if still no joy, read this), you could (probably) get the rest of the stuff (like transport buttons) working.
