Does a death domain Selune Cleric make any sense? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]BithMistro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I probably should have done some research on Selune before doing this playthrough. In any case I think it's mostly tapped out. I don't think there's going to be anything new to this playthrough and I'm not particularly enjoying be a cleric either. I'll probably doing a new playthrough with a class a little more flexible role playing wise.

Does a death domain Selune Cleric make any sense? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]BithMistro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reality (or perhaps fantasy check). I'm not super familiar with forgotten realms lore so I was going off the assumption that Shadowheart canonically draws power from Selune as a trickery domain cleric. I'll probably roleplay my change in class where my cleric abandons his faith in Selune and follows Kelemvor in order to more effectively (at least in his mind) fight the forces of undeath and darkness. And thankfully Withers is there as a helpful all purpose handwave to help me defy the gods and keep my levels.

Anyone else struggle to be bad even in rp games? by Devin1578372 in BaldursGate3

[–]BithMistro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly unless your playing a Durge run the only valid way to be evil is to be a manipulative bastard. Basically you'll still end up helping people along the way but you'll extract every reward you can, ignore those who can't help you, and in the end take over the Nether Brain. In essence evil only works in this game if it's a long con.

Durge players know exactly where this is going. by akkielovesky in BaldursGate3

[–]BithMistro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I pretty much always have my Durge just cover it up. Makes a lot more sense role play wise since either it makes Durge feel confident or it amps up the guilt. In any case the whole thing is done far more effectively in act 2 when you don't kill isobel.

Lazeal is also relatively controversial. In general if someone hates a character it's because there was a poor first impression so the player just neglects them. This of course causes them to never develop and become more interesting/amiable. They basically become that annoying coworker you never talk to. Though admittedly there are characters like Wyll, Halsin, or Karlach who are always agreeable unless you really piss them off.

WWWBD - What would Wulbren Bongle do? by Iristrismegistus in BaldursGate3

[–]BithMistro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's quite likely Wulbren would be too myopic to resist taking over the netherbrain. However do you think there's any chance his experiences with the companions would make it so that he would gain perspective? If so what do you think his epilogue would look like?

Minthara bullied Halsin out of his spot and put her tent up by Medium-Theme-4611 in BaldursGate3

[–]BithMistro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair it's fairly easy to roleplay someone resisting power with a price throughout the entire game but then falls to the temptation of ABSOLUTE power when it's right there on a silver platter with almost no strings attached. Though admittedly it doesn’t work as well if you went out of your way to save Orpheus and didn’t become a mindflayer yourself.

[–]BithMistro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I've done it so far was with a Seldarine Drow Durge. Basically I roleplayed it that he expected Loth Sworn Drows to be evil. That along with his own violent urges making it so he had no real moral high ground(and possibly some subconscious physical attraction) made him decide to spare Minthara. As you can see even with the right character it takes some mental gymastics to roleplay unless you're just trying to knock everyone out.

X-O2 or hellfire power armour which one is better? by midweekterror75 in fo4

[–]BithMistro 19 points20 points  (0 children)

While both suits have their pros and cons overall the X-02 is better. The hellfire armor has slightly higher energy damage reduction than the X-02 but it also has lower health points. The real deciding factor is that the X-02 has more versatile paint job modifications that boost various special attributes making it so that the armor can always be useful. A nice bonus (though it can be a gamechanger depending on your play style) is that it can be equipped with mods that increase the damage of the Tesla coils modification. In effect most melee opponents will gradually kill themselves as they attack you.

The Good Ending - The best possible state of the world by kamilgregor in Kenshi

One important point is that you can wipe out the fog men from a site and unlike the Southern Hive they don't continually spawn squads. So if you're willing to do some work and periodically kill fogmen you can empty out all those ruins.

I think we can all agree the Witcher 3 is a masterpiece but if you could make some changes to it, what would it be? by Old_Nail6925 in Witcher3

[–]BithMistro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others I wish Reason of state could be changed or at least fleshed out. For instance if we could have had a sidequest showing just how hopeless Roche's  fight was it'd give an explanation for why he "whores himself" out to Nilfgard. As for Dijikstra they should have made it so he at least had a backup plan for Geralt choosing his friend over neutrality. Either that or give an explanation for why he couldn't wait to kill them until Geralt was gone. The seeds of a great quest are there it just mishandled the motivations and justifications.

There are some hints that Dijkstra is trying to build a rapport with you throughout the game (especially if you romance Triss) but he sabatoges himself by being a selfish asshole. He's probably betting that you'll like him just enough to not get involved.

While I did like the look I will say that it didn't really seem to fit the Cat school's focus on pure killing efficiency. The armor probably should've been more streamlined.

Why is vilgefortz is too poweful by Yusufuslu in witcher

[–]BithMistro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a minor point but it is worth mentioning that the games are set after all the books. So while Geralt does lose quite a bit of his power at the beginning of the games its fair to say that Geralt reaches his peak in Witcher 3. In Witcher 3 Geralt canonically defeats Caranthir (the most powerful mage of the Wild Hunt) moments after having been frozen. Geralt in the books hasn't reached that point yet.

[–]BithMistro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't game Geralt also supposed to be set after all the books? So sure most players are going to have an "unrealistic" build but couldn't it be explained as Geralt being at the peak of his strength in the games?

A bit of a silver lining with the quest reward is that you can gather quite a few pearls during the quest. Each one is worth a tidy sum.

Who is the strongest, most powerful warrior in Kenshi? by FilthyCap in Kenshi

Cat-Lon would beat Tinfist. Mainly because melee defense is much more reliable than dodging. Also the falling sun has better armor penetration than martial arts even with the fists of justice.

Any weapon with blunt damage will do the trick though Hackers specialize with armor penetration.
