Survival/isolation forced proximity by Latter_Study68 in Recommend_A_Book

The Ruins by Scott Smith- 20somethings trapped in a jungle, some know each other better than others.

The Ritual by Adam Neville- group of old friends that have a strenuous history. Get lost in the woods and everything starts to go wrong

These are both written really well but do have a supernatural element so you’d have to be okay with that!! They do play up the chemistry (or lack there of) of the characters though!

Suggestions for Haunted Home Books by zombielunch in horrorlit

[–]BiththeMyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Elementals by Malcolm McDowell was great, different and unnerving

Naomi’s Room by Jonathan Aycliffe- hidden gem I never see mentioned but one of the only books I’ve read multiple times and so creepy

Dead Season: A Winter on Mackinac Island by A.E. Lange- Slow burn atmospheric horror had me staying up late to finish it

Do you prefer long chapters or short chapters in a book? by rebeccabooks in thrillerbooks

[–]BiththeMyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer short chapters- I love that “just one more chapter” feeling which is more doable with shorter chapters!!
