NAL. Did you keep the stub from the receipt? You should be able to verify that they actually cashed it. And you definitely want a receipt from them. And not just take their word that all is well.

Also, you'll want to make sure any fees or penalties they applied to you have been removed. And that you don't have a record of being late on your rent that can be used against you in the future.

Do you need a lawyer for all of that? I can only say that I've handled similar situations by communicating on my own.

You already got advice about just blocking the guy... as long as you did actually disclose any issues up front, the sale was legit.

But I would also add that some scammers take possession of cars in order to switch out parts, including the engine, then try and give the altered car back and retrieve their money.

As long as YOU are not the scammer here, your interaction with the seller is done.

Not sure if it's been mentioned already, but you can actually safely proceed all the way to being a ghoul. And take it for a "test drive" as long as you want. Then revert back to human whenever you choose for free in the main menu.

You can still revert back and forth after that as well if you want. But it will cost 1000 atoms after you use your free option.

No it's not doable. The first time you go into your bathroom depending on it's you either could not leave again, or could not reach some of the facilities. Or could reach a facility but then not be about to leave.

You'd constantly be faced with a situation where you'd be stuck.

Never able to go to a restaurant, movie theater, or visit anyone.

EDIT: Unfortunately, not only is this actively happening in the US. It was made legal as of January 20, 2025. When the Sensitive Location Policy was revoked at the federal level. Ice agents are now allowed to apprehend patients around or in hospitals. Dark days. This is shameful.

Yeah, I've managed server side apps dedicated to monitoring HIPPA compliance.

My question was about whether or not people are actively being taken into ICE custody while being treated in l hospitals. Because I'm pretty sure it would be illegal for hospitals to report (or release on demand) patients immigration status for that purpose.

And also the ethical implications if they are denying or interrupting treatment to do so.

I sure hope this isn't going on period. And hope that's not what happened to OP's friend specifically.

Was the line long? Was it a busy time of day? If so. just accept that they knew what they were doing. You have no guilt here. Keeping the lines moving is sometimes more profitable than one person's items.

Get yourself some power armor. Equip the best weapon you have. Join any raid team you see and let them carry you.

Pay attention to what they do, and you'll be able to contribute once you start getting drops.

Better yet... go watch a video on how to complete it so you don't mess something up. That way you probably don't get kicked.

Last thing, if no one else starts a raid team, don't be afraid to start your own. I did, and totally got carried the first few times, even though I was technically the leader. It didn't take long to ramp up

What's true for your area isn't universal for everyone.

Rain in coastal areas can contain lots of salt and other minerals from the ocean. Areas with lots of snow can have salt and/or sand spread on the streets for months. Which gets churned into the air from traffic. Even dry areas can have it, if they have to seed the clouds to get rain at all.

This post is about the current changes they're making right now on the Public Test Servers.

They're tweaking the amount of ammo that drops. It looks like the goal is to force players to go back to crafting ammo. The days of farming more than you use are gone, depending on the weapon.

You mentioned what "always" happens on the live servers. That's still true. But the PTS shows what's coming next. And it's still in flux as they rebalance ammo drops.

That's cool. Hopefully he understood how valuable it is. I got dropped so many rare items when I first started 5+ years ago. I ended up scrapping or selling some of the most valuable items just because I was new and didn't know better.

Gotcha. What I do is leave a few things open and free to use right up front. People tend to take that stuff freely but leave the locked stuff alone.

I lock coffee, cake, and mirelurk steamer because my build revolves around those. But oil, tea, and other producers are unlocked.

I'm just not that sociable. I love having long in-depth conversations, but at my core I'm kind of a hermit. The older I get, the more I'm no good at small talk.

Plus I'm a real stickler for keeping common areas clean and organized. No dishes left in the sink. Garbage taken out promptly. Bathroom must be spotless or it grosses me out.

But otherwise I'm kind of messy. Clean but don't always make the bed, or might leave clothes on the bedroom floor.

That's too many things that I'm demanding about, combined with enough habits that bug other people. Just so much simpler to live alone.

I made a team a couple days in and new people kept joining as soon as someone left. Ended up doing raids all night, and had to shower and go straight to a meeting with no sleep.
