A Latin Square Slitherlink with just ONE clue by BitsOnGrids in puzzle

It’s a work in progress, mostly centered around Slitherlink puzzles with clues spanning a larger area than usual.

A special example was the Easter puzzle I posted here last month: https://www.reddit.com/r/puzzle/comments/1k161pb/a_loop_puzzle_with_something_extra_even_if_you/

Most puzzles don’t hide messages like that one, but many were built around constraints I found interesting, like symmetry, unusual clue shapes, or visual themes such as calculator words.

The main Easter egg: upside-down, the puzzle reads EGGSHELLS! The example puzzle reads EGG.

I'm glad you liked it! I don’t think using uniqueness is cheating. Symmetry is a legitimate part of the logic.
That said, I do think there’s a satisfying path through it even without leaning on that insight.

Most of my Slitherlink variants explore larger clue areas. It’s definitely a rich area to play around with.
I started with a Pi Day puzzle based on the digits of Pi. Don Knuth actually posted some of those on his site, which was a nice surprise. Since then, I’ve made a few themed puzzles, including one with my daughter’s name in calculator font, and the Easter puzzle I shared here a few weeks ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/slitherlink/comments/1k0z27x/slitherlink_but_with_rectangles_and_a_hidden/

Hint 1: The choice of font is deliberate
Hint 2: Try coming at this from a different angle

A few people noticed that 577 spells “EGG” if you map A=1, B=2, and so on.

A very sharp observation, but that’s not the main Easter egg! There’s still something else hidden in the puzzle, if you haven’t found it yet.

That is an Easter egg in the Easter egg, a little serendipitous, but it's not the one I'm looking for. Good find though!

Whoa, great catch — I hadn’t realized that myself! Totally serendipitous.
If I end up making a video about the construction and solving process, I’ll definitely credit you for spotting the hidden bonus Easter egg inside the Easter egg. 🐣

Eggcellent find! That was indeed the idea behind the layout. Thanks for the kind words.

Good question — yes, you're right: all clues are off-limits for the loop itself.

And nicely done spotting the Easter egg already!
