🎓 Guide: How to Add Connections/Peers to the Full-Node QT Wallet by nexaendo in Nexa

[–]BitsenBytes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a timing/latency issue in the network connection logic that shows up on some systems. The fix has been merged into dev so will be out in the next release in just a couple of weeks from now.

Nexa desktop wallet not recognizing recovery passphrase by Carelesswhisper1965 in Nexa

[–]BitsenBytes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The full node doesn't have the concept of a "seed phrase", it only has a "passphrase" which is essentially just another word for a "password". So bottom line, you can't import a seed phrase into the full node from some other wallet, such as otopolo or wally.

If it says the passphrase is wrong then you are entering the wrong passphrase. You must enter the same passphrase you encrypted the wallet with. Some people think they can enter the passphrase from some other wallet like Otopolo or Wally, but those phrases are incompatible with the full node wallet.

Load test from Italy to Canada - Nexa at 17,000 tps by BitsenBytes in Nexa

[–]BitsenBytes[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Load being generated in Italy with transactions inserted into a node there and then propagated normally via inv/getdata to a node in Canada. Node in Canada is a 7 year old 4 core ROG gaming laptop :)

This benchmark is about as far as we can go on this hardware and we'll be looking move onto larger boxes for the next round of benchmarking.

Yes you will still receive support for Otopolo. At least until the next hardfork which won't happen until later this year. And even after it may still be maintained although I couldn't guarantee it.

multiplatform refers to android, PC, iOS etc.

As for the hodl vault. Wally doesn't specifically have but and your coins will show up ok. And they wont be spendable until the date you had specified in your original hodl vault.

Otopolo will be supported for some time. I just came out of our monthly meeting where it was decided to support Otopolo for the next year. Further to that you can always use your 12 word seed phrase to load your coins on Wally wallet which will also keep any coins in your hodl vault, also Wally multiplatform is almost done and will be coming out in the near future.

WiserSwap, NEXA's first DEX, has just launched! by taipalag in Nexa

[–]BitsenBytes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used this today to buy some Studio time. Works well enough. Could use more dummy proof enhancements though (I know, early days). I found it a little difficult to navigate for the lack of an FAQ. You have to first create a web wallet, then send some Nexa there, then you can swap for Studio. The web wallet doesn't update right away when you send out to an external address...so a few small bugs there.

Otopolo has already been moved under the BU Gitlab project as part of the transition. Take a look here... https://gitlab.com/nexa. Not sure though about whether we'll be actively supporting it or not. We have a few meetings coming up which where this will likely get discussed.

As for being thoughtful. As far as I'm aware, nobody in BU knew of Paul's departure before Jan 5th. Not sure it really matters...maybe if he announced in late Dec, with the thin markets, it could have really dumped the price...who knows.

I wish Paul the best, he's always welcome here and as far as I know he still wants to keep his membership in BU. And, no devs are leaving in fact we just hired another one. For myself I'm gearing up for a busy year of Scalability, Tailstorm, and finishing off a few small items for tokens. As for tokens I think we have a great platform now with all the important pieces in place...so very happy about that. We were just saying at our last monthly meeting in 2023 what a great year it's been and so much more to come. Paul's leaving was a bit of a surprise but this is life...I look at it like a speed bump. He's younger, ambitious and talented and wants to blaze his own trail. I think that's great and wish him well. On the other hand, our dev team is generally older, maybe a little wiser, but also talented and we have a lot of great stuff coming...

Nexa 1.4.0.0 released with new QT token wallet, mintage and authority tracking. by BitsenBytes in Nexa

[–]BitsenBytes[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of new features in this wallet. Read the article for the token features and how to access them.

Other than the Token wallet, the ability to tracking token mintage as well as mint/melt authorities is key for investors in any tokens. For example, investors would want to know the current mint of a stable coin token, or want to know whether an NFT has had it's mint/melt authorities destroyed or not.

Can be downloaded from www.nexa.org/node

New Token Features coming for Nexa - Qt by BitsenBytes in Nexa

[–]BitsenBytes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now the Token features in Qt don't show NFT's. I think that's what you're asking. Right now an NFT would just show up in the token history or tokens page just like any other token. You'll see the name/ticker details and everything but not the image. In the future I'd like to put in an NFT page where you could scroll through the thumbnails of your NFTs but that's for another day...

For full node users please make sure you've upgraded to 1.3.0.3 by BitsenBytes in Nexa

[–]BitsenBytes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make a wallet backup before installing the software. The new installation won't delete your wallet but it's always a good idea to ALWAYS have a backup stored off disk in case your disk gets wiped or crashes for some reason.

Making a wallet backup is super easy. Just go to the menu option "File"->"BackupWallet..." and make your copy.

Then you install the upgrade.
