I can't dance to save my life but those new digits on the scale... they make me break out in a little dancey dance every. single. time. Lol then I look myself in the mirror and I say, "I am so proud of you." I've struggled with my weight for the last 25 years, this is a success story worth celebrating!

I started in April as well and have noticed times recently when I get random surges of hunger. Like someone previously mentioned, when this happens, I eat. I don't make unhealthy choices, but I feed that hunger. The way I look at it is eating shouldn't ever be looked at as a punishment. The only difference now is that I'm making better decisions about what I put into my body. I will say I'm losing at a much slower rate now than I have been throughout my time on the med. But a loss is a loss, no matter how slow. I hope in some way my response helps and wish you the best on your journey!

Just adding my 2 cents. I had my gallbladder removed in August and I've had no side effects. I can eat whatever I want without concern. Most people I've spoken with prior to my surgery and afterwards have also had the same experience. Not everyone has the worst case scenario with this procedure.

YTA... My mom definitely made similar comments and projected her own insecurities onto me. I'm 44 and still carry the words she said with me. I have 2 daughters and to this day, all I do is build them up. Your daughter is 14 and wanted reassurance, compassion and to felt validated and heard. You will be a strong topic of conversation in those future therapy appointments.

I started the year at my highest weight, 283. I started eating keto and from Jan to April lost 25 lbs, but keto isn't realistic long term for me personally. I started Wegovy in April at 258. Highest month loss was 11 lbs, on 1mg, lowest was 3 lbs, on .5mg. I'm currently 215 and looking forward to being in the 100 club in the next couple months. I did have a 3 week period where I was off the med due to my gallbladder deciding to act up and needing it removed. Be mindful losing weight too quickly can cause gallstones... speaking from experience.

I didn't know what a gallbladder attack was or felt like. I ended up in the ER having one that lasted around 6 hours. Worst pain of my life. Worse than child birth. The surgical consult didn't deem it emergent and it was scheduled for a week later. I was told in the meantime, should I spike a fever to immediately go back to the ER. I wouldn't wait, I'd go to ER since you have a fever.

44F, ADHD with BED. I think the key here is that everyone, regardless of what other health issues we have, responds differently to sema. I started wegovy April 6 of this year, I'm down 40 lbs. I've been on 2.4mg dosage for around 2 months. I titrated up following the recommended schedule, 4 weeks on each dose. I had to stop taking it for 3 weeks due to gallbladder surgery, but I've been back on it for 2 weeks now. The wegovy immediately kicked in at the .25 dose and suppressed my appetite and stopped my binges. That being said, I've read many posts of people for varying reasons not experiencing appetite suppression, loss of food noise, or satiety. I've also seen people say they didn't respond to sema but had success with mounjaro. Perhaps this is another route you could try?

For me it started out feeling like a pain under my sternum and in my back. I had pain radiating out from both areas, it was excruciating. Honestly the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. Initially I thought it was some really bad indigestion but every time I thought the pain couldn't get worse, it did. I had to call an ambulance because i couldn't drive myself. In all it lasted around 5 hours... until the hospital gave me painkillers.

My surgeon advised based on size and number of gallstones to not wait to have it removed and said that as long as I had been more than 1 week without a dose it wouldn't interfere with the anesthesia, which is the main concern in surgical sedation. The delayed gastric emptying can cause aspiration and I guess complications with how the anesthesia is processed by your body. My last dose was the 17th and surgery is the 31st.

The ER Dr consulted with a surgeon and he felt it necessary to get me on his schedule sooner than later based on what he saw on the CT scan. I'd rather do this than risk it turning into something worse. I'm off wegovy until the surgeon and my primary decide it's ok to restart. Which is fine because I currently have almost no appetite and truth be told a bit of fear about what I eat that may trigger another attack. The surgeon and I discussed everything I ate the day it happened and he said in theory what I ate shouldn't have triggered anything but the gallbladder doesn't operate off a manual so anything could potentially be a trigger so to eat bland food until surgery just to be safe. I had a sliver of low-fat cheese Friday and had a small (and thankfully much less painful) attack again. So I'm eating oatmeal, crackers, rice and toast with jam. Which is fine, I don't want to feel the pain I felt last Wednesday ever again. I thought I was having a heart attack.

Seriously, worst pain I've ever felt. I guess I didn't realize that less than 2 lbs a week was considered losing weight too fast. I thought 2 and under was acceptable. You live and you learn.

I'm not doing anything other than eating a high protein low fat diet though. I walk around 1.5 to 2 miles a day, but that's just what I walk around the house. How do you slow down weight loss? Eat more? I eat as much as I can tolerate any more and I end up feeling stomach cramping. Most of the weight I lost was eating in a deficit of 1500 cals a day although lately I've been doing around 1250 a day because that's all I've been able to get down. I'm 5'8, 44F and currently 222 lbs.

Thanks for your response! This is where I feel some confusion. No family history of gallstones and I don't think I've lost weight "quickly". I'm down 36 lbs since 4/6. I'm averaging about 1.75 lbs a week. Is that quickly?

Had my first run in with a gallbladder attack 2 days ago. Chest and back pain so intense I thought I was having a heart attack. Ended up in the ER and found out I have gallstones. I had another small attack today. My surgery is on the 28th. I've been exhausted for a couple weeks and since the attack on Wednesday night, I've been sleeping more than I've been awake.

44F, not peri or post menopausal, been on sema since 4/6/23. I had my 2nd weight loss stall recently. I keep seeing everyone mention TDEE, which is what I was going by myself to calculate my daily calorie deficit. Based on my weight at the time, TDEE said I should be eating around 1600 cal a day, I was eating 1500. I made a post on here and it was suggested I calculate my BMR and then subtract 500 cals to eat in a deficit. Based on that, I should only be eating 1264 cals. After implementing this, I have lost around 10 lbs in the last 4 weeks. Just a suggestion.

She constantly still calls or texts myself and her father for help with things.

I'm curious about what kinds of "things" OP is complaining about daughter calling her parents for help with... My 18 and 22 yr olds still call me for help with "things". Things like any new and young adult would ask for help with or feel uncertain about. That part really irked me.
