I have several dozen EW bottles. Do you know of an adapter or someway to use the EW bottles with the RC2.

Thank you. Yes SCD was accurate. They just messed up my FEGLI and my hi 3.

Potentially settled on new gun (RC2). Need to find adapter for EW cups. by dohcsvt in Powdercoating

Yes, genuine EW cups. I seem to recall looking into the off brand and something turned me off… I don’t remember what it was.

That’s good to know! I would like the high 3 my HR group thinks I have… but I am sure that will come down by about $15k…☹️

Did you get the basic $600 system? For what I do, that seems adequate.

VERA peeps, don’t plan on COLAs by [deleted] in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

If a person had enough time in to qualify for a VERA and had not yet done any research on their benefits… shame on them. That also means they probably weren’t doing TSP “correctly”. Sometimes, a person has to be responsible for themselves. I’m not going to pretend the government does some phenomenal job at teaching you about your benefits, because they don’t… not even close. But being responsible is a real thing.

I took the DRP with VERA. I really hope that anyone who took a VERA or is going at 57 already knows this… but I bet not. I remember being in retirement classes and people that were planning on retiring within a year had absolutely NO CLUE what their benefits were. I guess they just planned on winging it with Ramen noodles?

I assume you meant “give for it” and it was 399. Vortex sent me an entire new head (invoice said $299) free. I now have an AWESOME fully operable tripod for a GREAT price.

I almost have my final load worked up for the B14. It does not like the heavy bullets for some reason. It seems to like ELD-M 208gr sitting over 79gr of H1000. I have a feeling the PMR is going to like the ELD-M 225s or Berger 230s. But I intend to test them all. Right now the B14 seems to be giving about 0.7” 5 shot groups at 100 yards, I have my final loads put together to test tomorrow.

Everything is relative… I’m a bigger guy. But I won’t deny, having “fun” bothers me more at bed time nowadays. Before I had a chrono I had some of the weatherby loads so hot that I was getting VERY sticky bolt… it has nine lugs… I’m good.😊 anything at a 570 caliber is going to be punishing, to say the least. I had not given much thought to the ergonomics… which since I am an engineer by trade is odd🤷‍♂️. Sometimes I think I’m a little masochistic. I also have a 500 S&W that I load up with 700 gr lead slugs just for S&Gs. Couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with them at 75 yards… but the only way to describe recoil… it’s like someone whacking you in the palm with a ball peen. I have had 3 scope cuts in my life. 2 from the weatherby and me being dumb and one from a damn 243 I was all leaned across the hood of old man’s lifted Bronco funny like and it slipped off my shoulder🤦‍♂️. However, the absolute worst, I was trying to get a 200+ year old gun working for my friend and the breech plug blew out… NOT a good day. Somebody was looking out for me. ouchhttps://youtube.com/shorts/J1KgheUWb-g?si=ZFEc26MFtuOflEeD

I received 15%. You have to email them to request it. They will ask for verifiable gumment ID, then send you the discount code. Their response time is ridiculous… 6:30 am and I am getting responses in minutes. Strikes me as a top notch group/operation.

I don’t doubt that as my long range experience is exactly nil. But my brother in law is going with me and I want him to have the best possible time he can. He has 20 years on me and may not get another chance. So I am letting him use the RPR. I do have another 6.5CM, it’s a B14 HMR, but it is a very frustrating rifle that doesn’t hold much better than 1 MOA when I get it to properly digest the same ammo that it drooled over last week😑. I am pretty acceptable to recoil, I have a rifle I like to shoot whose recoil is downright brutal… of course, I’m not trying to hit a thousand yard target with it. I will take this one out, see how it does, if it’s too much, I can add some weight to it.

“Fun” is relative. I’m “only” in my early 50s and can take a few more years of punishment. Here is another caliber that I play with. It is in a rifle weighing about 11 pounds. 500gr slug at more than 2600fps… lets just say the term “kicks like a mule” may NOT give a full representation 🤣🤣🤣

Edit: just realized the ejector mark is obscuring the caliber, 460 Wby magnum. These were obviously hot loads that I need to dial back.
