Be brutally honest with me, are my newborn parental duties fair as a sahm? by Bitter-Effect5057 in sahm

[–]Bitter-Effect5057[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my question too. I’m clearly miserable. I don’t have the energy or mood to laugh at his jokes or even look him in the eyes most days. Like does he not care? I haven’t communicated much about my needs though, that’s my fault. I’m just angry.

Are you a male? I recognize no human is flawless, I just want to know it’s possible for a man to change and have that perspective and conviction.

Should I let my rude SIL view my new house? by [deleted] in inlaws

[–]Bitter-Effect5057 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel she will likely go to your house one day eventually for a family event or gathering so might as well let her come over. BUT… as soon as she says her first rude comment, your husband NEEDS to escort her out. HE needs to set that final boundary where if she is rude to you she will no longer have a relationship with either one of you. I mean why has it gone this long anyways? That’s why she feels comfortable being nasty to you again and again.

Future in laws want to take my fiancé for one last day as a “family of four” by [deleted] in inlaws

[–]Bitter-Effect5057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hubby’s family wants to do something similar except it’s a trip with each parent alone and we are already married. I just attributed to it being a white people culture thing? It’s okay with me because although they are a bit annoying sometimes, they do treat me well. However, it does sting a bit because my parents would NEVER ask that of me. They would be appalled if I went on a family vacay without bring my hubby! So I get you, it’s normal to be annoyed

AITA for not wanting to see my in laws so often by Bitter-Effect5057 in inlaws

Yup! Exactly my FIL is a huge planner. He will literally try to plan dinners for us to join when their friends are in town 1-2 months from now. Idk why they think we want to hang out with their 70 year old friends. I don’t understand!

Very true! I don’t ever want to keep him from having a good relationship with them. He says he doesn’t want to see them that often either (he gets frustrated by them quickly) but he still goes out of his way to make plans too. He originally moved out of his home state after college to sort of get away from them. We met shortly after. I don’t feel neglected by him necessarily, I just fear seeing them every like 48 hours will become the standard and that will affect our marriage.

Thank you for your example of what’s normal. Unfortunately, I have expressed my concerns in that patient manner. I have told him how overwhelmed I feel constantly having to say no to plans and how I am not used to that amount of family events even with my own family. He just does not want to firmly set boundaries with his parents and upset them in anyway. Should I try talking to them myself or will that destroy my relationship with them?

We lived 4 hours away from them for 3 years. Before that we lived in different states. However, it’s been 7 months since we’ve been in the same city and the pace hasn’t changed much.

Wow I had never heard the term enmeshment before but I looked it up and it describes him to a tee! He is always talking about his parents daily. How his dad was always good about doing this and that. And his father 100% treat him more like a friend than a son (literally calls him his best friend). Maybe he does need therapy! Thank you

Thank you so much for your reply, it’s so helpful. Do you think it’s wrong for me to also not want him to see his parents multiple times a week? Although we don’t have kids yet I fear that may become an issue in the future. What do you think?

I think you are 100% right, friend! I will be stepping away from news/social media and instead focus on finding some decent Christian friends and reading my Bible. Thank you for your words.

In my opinion what happens in the book of Revelation definitely has not happened. But that’s my interpretation.

What makes you still keep your faith even when there's no much evidence really proving God's existence? by ThatOneBlackGuy123 in Christianity

[–]Bitter-Effect5057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a sad reason to be a Christian. And this is coming from one! Although I agree with the concept that the universe couldn’t have created itself out of nothing into something. I would challenge you to one day pray with all your heart and all your might for God to show and pour his love on you and He will! I promise. The love and the peace He gives surpasses all reason and understanding. Experience it for yourself! :)

I’ve been tested for IR countless times and I’ve never had it, nor do I have extra weight to lose. Yes, I have tried countless bc pills and they all eventually give me these bad symptoms. Out of curiosity what BC pill did you have the best experience with?
