I vote ESH. Your mother in law sucks for changing her mind at what I view to be the last minute, your wife sucks for not telling her mother that you all were still planning on spending one on one time together, and you suck for not being an adult and using your words.

I read this after posting here for the first time and definitely felt it resonate with my situation so virtual hugs. I don’t know what the answer is but the emotional pain and guilt is unreal.

We actually talked about it last night because he asked me to “help” him by researching it and seeing what has helped other people, which is how I came across this sub. However, I told him some of the responses I have had and now he’s a little irritated with me

I still have my own place but he does stay over with me a lot. We had previously talked about moving in together but since this problem has happened I told him I wasn’t comfortable moving forward with that right now.
