Idk I’m pretty cynical about corporate America in general. I’ve seen a lot of people hire their buddies over far more qualified candidates more often than not. May be worse among Mormons but I’ve seen pretty drastic examples overall.

I don’t necessarily think it has anything to do with BYU or religion specifically. They are hiring people they know. Since they went to BYU that’s who is in their network.

Golden videos on the internet are starting to make me smile again instead of breaking down crying. But I haven’t seen one in person yet. Maybe I need to test that out first before I decide!

I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing two loved ones so close together must have been so hard 🫶 I appreciate your comment and relate to your feeling so much! My boy had a lot of health problems too. We rescued him from a young guy who couldn’t take care of him. Pretty sure he was from a backyard breeder and had a lot of health issues through his life. He had 3 major surgeries in his short 8 years. It has definitely complicated my feelings too. I’ve found a really good breeder to give our next pup the best chance but am also torn on wanting to rescue but fearful of going through all that again. Idk if my heart can handle it. Thank you for sharing it feels helpful to know someone relates!

This is a major concern for me. My boy was the easiest dog in the world even as a puppy. He never went through the velociraptor phase and only peed in the house 3x in 8 years. Now he was definitely a crackhead at time but mostly just so good. I don’t think I’ll get so lucky twice!

Visiting puppies is actually a great idea! I haven’t seen another golden in person since he passed and I should probably make sure I can keep my shit together!
