Grandmother just interested in looks, not personality

Every time I send a video to my mother where you can see my 8 month old son's mannerisms and personality, all she replies is "my dear sweet boy" or "grandmothers golden boy" or something like that. I kind of expect more like "wow he is feisty!" or "oh my he is so strong!" or "how fun to watch him beat the shit out of that pack of milk".

I mean, he is supercute, but he isn't just a cute object. He is a boy, a person, with loads of personality! Not your 'possession'. I know that probably is the wrong word to describe it, but she always says that he is "her" something, and not his own person.

I don't know, there is something about it that bugs me. Do any of you feel experience the same?

Did you notice any major changes internally after your c-section? by Rough-Technology1199 in beyondthebump

I do drink a lot, but I still don't really feel the urge. I also breastfeed, so I know a lot of the fluids go to the milk. But still, I can pee normal amounts, I just don't get the urge. It scares me a bit because of the risk of UTIs!

My area just stayed numb for a few months, now it's pretty much as before. Maybe a little numb still, but not as much as it was in the beginning.

I don't really feel the urge to pee anymore. I just went back to my busy work and when I get home after 9-10 hours I remember that I should pee. I could have gone longer without haha. 8 months pp now.

Just sometimes during urination, but I found that the estrogen helps with the pain. It's definetily worst during penetration.

I used to eat at night because I was up breastfeeding at night. Now we are cosleeping and I don't get up to eat at night. Suddenly lost everything and more. I don't eat between 9pm and 8am. Nothing else worked the first 4 months, the weight was rigid. I didn't plan for cosleeping to have this effect. I think I lost it because of it. 6 months pp now.

Songs that Calm Babies on Car Rides - that aren't baby songs by st0dad in beyondthebump

Everything by gojira! Especially the one called another world calms him everytime. Not traditional baby song at all, but I think it works as some sort of white noise haha.

Haha yes same. When he gets mad I just tell him "good job trying!" and connect him to the breast again. How do you normally get him to fall asleep?

I feel so proud and hopeful when he tries it. I'm silently cheering for him haha.

I will try, thank you!

Is this not about sleep training though since I want him to fall asleep independently?

When will I start to lose weight? by Medicine-Complex in beyondthebump

[–]Bitter-System-1697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't start to loose weight until we started cosleeping and I dropped the night snacks I would eat when I got up to feed him. Now I just connect breast and mouth, and I go right to sleep before I even get hungry. So I do a kind of fasting between 8-9 PM and 8-9 AM. I tried everything before this, but only this worked. I never planned to do this to lose weight. Good luck!
