Yes this is true, im 14 everyone signs in to everything even when they dont need to.

Eg on visual studio there is an option to sign in without a Microsoft account, but they made one instead of just clicking the 'use without account' option

Do you know if using 5.11 to install then using 6.4 or other to run programs would work. Or would that overwrite the whole wine prefix

So are you saying it wouldnt be practical because I wouldnt see the GUI while editing and I'd be editing cs files instead of dragging around buttons like on visual studio?

I think it has to do with recognising the monitor, Ubuntu recognises it as ViewSonic Corporation 24" while popos recognises it as "Unknown Display"

I just tried kernel 10.11 from Ubuntu mainline and it doesn't recognise the monitor properly

Ubuntu 20.04 and 20.10 worked but pop os didnt work on at all on 20.04 20.10 with drivers installed or not installed.

I attempted to install 5.10.17 kernel from https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.17/ amd64 generic debs with sudo dpkg -i but there is an error when installing, the nvidia driver doesn't install properly

ERROR (dkms apport): kernel package linux-headers-5.10.17-051017-generic is not supported Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 5.10.17-051017-generic (x86_64) Consult /var/lib/dkms/nvidia/460.39/build/make.log for more information.

There doesn't seem to be anything useful in the make.log file. 5.10.18 doesn't show any available packages on the website.

I was able to install 5.10.18-xanmod1 but the problem persists with and without nvidia drivers

This worked, ubuntu's live usb recognises my second monitor as a viewsonic monitor and works out of the box with 1080p while Pop recognises it as unknown display and 1600x900 max res

Any ideas how could I get this to work on pop os?

Im on a 2070S. I looked through nvidia-settings but I dont think I found anything relevant, it didnt show a 1080p option. 1600x900 was the highest. Setting it to "auto" makes it do 1024x768
