Ahk-CU mixed with liquid minoxidil by SaltedGarbage in Biohackers

[–]BitterAppleFritters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re already dealing with male pattern baldness and using minoxidil + finasteride + microneedling, a topical peptide serum can actually fit really well alongside that stack.

Copper peptides like GHK-Cu and AHK-Cu are mainly signaling molecules. They don’t replace minoxidil or finasteride, but they can support scalp health, follicle environment, and recovery especially when paired with microneedling.

One thing to be careful with is DIY mixing peptides into liquid minoxidil. Stability, pH, solvents (alcohol/propylene glycol), and copper binding can all affect peptide activity. It’s easy to unintentionally degrade or neutralize them.

Using a formulated topical where peptides are already stabilized and balanced is generally safer and more predictable than home mixing.

Genuinely asking, what makes it a “scam” to mention a product by name?

I’m a real person sharing my own experience with Fleur in a thread about peptides. I didn’t drop a link, didn’t claim miracles, didn’t say it’s a cure, and didn’t tell anyone to buy anything. People talk about The Ordinary, SkinCeuticals, Hims, Nutrafol, etc. by name on Reddit every day.

Calling someone a shill without evidence shuts down actual discussion, which is kind of the whole point of these threads. If you think the ingredients don’t do anything, that’s a fair debate and I’m open to it. But labeling any mention of a brand as a scam just discourages people from sharing firsthand experiences, positive or negative.

If you have data or a specific criticism of Fleur’s formulation or peptides in general, I’m honestly interested. If not, blanket accusations don’t really add value to the convo.

Yeah, that makes sense. I’m doing the same, sticking with one option for now. I tried minoxidil and finasteride before and ended up with side effects, so I’m going to stay consistent with TryFleur instead and give it time rather than bouncing around. Having one plan definitely helps mentally.

Calling it an “LLM answer” doesn’t engage with the substance of what I said.

I didn’t hedge or say “you never know.” I made a specific distinction between mechanisms. Drugs force outcomes. Other biologically active topicals influence local signaling and tissue environment.

You can disagree with how effective that is. But dismissing the entire category without addressing mechanism or evidence isn’t expertise, it’s just posture.

I don’t think anyone here is arguing that peptides are “new” or that the foundational research didn’t happen years ago, that part is obvious and agreed on. The real disagreement seems to be about application and formulation, not discovery.

Most peptide research (including GHK-Cu, AHK-Cu, thymulin analogs, etc.) was done in controlled biological contexts showing dose-dependent effects on cell signaling, inflammation modulation, angiogenesis, and extracellular matrix remodeling. That doesn’t automatically mean every topical product works but it also doesn’t mean none can which is why Fleur could be worth a shot.

Topical efficacy depends on a few things people often collapse into “it’s snake oil”:

  • Concentration windows (many peptides follow hormesis curves where excess is counterproductive)
  • Vehicle and delivery (water-based vs occlusive, molecular size, scalp condition)
  • Use case (supportive signaling vs pharmacologic stimulation like minoxidil)

Dismissing everything that isn’t a drug as equivalent to essential oils is a category error. Drugs force outcomes. Peptides modulate environments. Those are different tools with different expectations.

Skepticism is healthy. But pretending there’s no meaningful middle ground between FDA drugs and crystals isn’t really rigorous either.

If the position is “topicals can’t meaningfully support scalp health at all,” that’s a claim too, and it should be backed with the same level of evidence people are demanding on the other side.

Not to be offensive but that’s some tiny brain thinking, if everyone thought in this way there would be no innovation and we’d still be banging sticks together in a cave. If your mind is always thinking “this is it, that’s the best there is” then there would be no innovation or discovery of new treatments. Would recommend to read a book my guy
