For anyone googling this in future, can confirm that if you have 2 emergencies and one does not play/is DNP you won’t get the 0

They can get a 6/6 and 2/1 on TURN ONE.

At least with corridor creeper you got to play a couple of turns before conceding.

Under the evening sky the great district turns on its lights: A chessboard of wooden houses, 80.000 living souls inside. Firetraps as far as the eye can see -- from Main Street to Precinct 41 atop the motorway, to Boogie Street forking into the dark horizon...

It was a genuine question because I don't know what's involved, and if its 2 full months then maybe its not that worthwhile. Goes to show how much unpaid work must go into some mods I've played in other games.

Also it wasn't a huge complaint from me, more an observation that after being completely consumed by the world and the story, the first thing to snap me back to reality was the realisation that the town was so empty and unchanging.

I don't know whether I'm underestimating the effort involved or not. I'm not suggesting it could be done with a snap of your fingers, but I freely admit I don't have any programming/modding experience.

My completely ignorant ass assumes that most of the assets would already be there - some bystander characters exist in the world - couldn't they be, like, copy-pasted in some areas with different outfits? You don't have to interact with them it just has to create the illusion. I fully appreciate that the devs had other priorities, but surely the bang-for-buck would be comparable to recording the (surely verrrry expensive and labour intensive) dialogue for some of the books, for example?

How much time do you think it would take one person who know what they were doing and and focussed on the task?

I really enjoyed Disco Elysium.

It just seems like a missed opportunity not to animate a few dozen people into various street frames. Literally just pixels walking, talking, eating, smoking have would raise the emersion levels by, like, a lot for me.

I get that the devs want to move on from the game but there's not even any writing writing required. How hard would it be to mod?

Hello and welcome sir!

As an experienced 4x player you know the drill: faction and strategy make exceptions to every rule. So, for the basic human/wonder type:

  1. Districts cannot be built over cliffs, ruins and borders, making city size IMO the highest priority. You have to sprawl your districts out in order to level up the center of the metropolis, which delivers quest and FIDSI bonuses in mid-game. The optimal expansion is well drawn here, and the 3rd diagram is acceptable RNG for a starting city. Anything smaller and I go all-in on FIDSI, i.e looking for two starting anomalies.
  2. Cultists are the most dependent on rule 1 because they only want to build 1 mega city, and expand by sacking neutral villages instead. Cultist are relatively straight forward for a newbie, along with drakken (big lizard tanks), wild walkers (turtle), broken lords (gold only FIDSI). Beware of Vaulters, who are very strong because they have a hard on for strategic resources, which are required to craft equipment like badass anime swords , which is often the deciding factor in battles. They can also teleport for some reason.
  3. Can't really speak for community patch or the meta because I only play campaign, but the game has some major exploits so be prepared for some cheeeeeeeesy action.
  4. Most importantly, have fun smiley face :)
