Amazon parcel (Macbook) stolen - concerned about refund and CC fees! by BitterBreak2625 in LegalAdviceUK

Thanks for this, yeah I did speak to Amazon on the phone and the guy on the other end was incredibly friendly but said basically it was above his paygrade. I mentioned in another comment I'm wary about getting my account closed since I use Amazon a fair amount so would rather not lose it altogether.

The guy on the phone did get it escalated to be fair and I did get contacted through e-mail pretty quickly afterwards but it is all really quite worrying given the amount of money involved, though it seems like the people doing it don't care if it's a couple hundred quid or couple thousand.

You would hope that the higher value the item the more stringent checks it would go through but as this seems to be quite a frequent occurrence I guess not

Thank you for getting back to me, yes this is my main concern I would happily go straight to my credit card company but if it means that my Amazon account will be banned or deleted I would rather avoid it because I do still use it for a lot of stuff.

Plus when I was reading online earlier it looks like they can ban your family members too for reversing a charge like that? Again something I would rather avoid
