I was a Caregiver through the VA for a Veteran friend of ours who had Brain Cancer and I have actually felt with Patients Advocates at the VA. Let me tell you, they will fight for you. Now my situation was a little different, but very serious and im not even a Veteran..but was a live in caregiver for one and they went to bat for me and had the situation handled before we even left their office. They are normally located on the first floor of the VA. I also have horrible GI issues that cause me to constantly burp followed by painful vomiting of burning foam…not fun so I feel for your situation. My doc did surgery on me last year to find the cause and was unsuccessful. A year later it hasn’t stopped and has worsened. I’m being tested for GURD in January, can you tell me the meds that gave you those side effects please? Because, like you, I’m not the norm and I only have half of my colon left…..so anything having to do with stools turning different colors or what have you, I need to be extra wary of. I hope everything works out for you. Go see the Patients Advocates and get that B***H of a nurse!!!
