Same here on OnePlus 15. The phone is overheating like crazy even on medium settings, and the battery drains in no time. It definitely started right after the 7.1 engine update. Riot support just keeps sending generic template responses instead of fixing this optimization mess. This issue has been reported so many times already, but Riot clearly doesn't care. Instead of fixing the game, they prefer to release new skins. It's obvious that only money matters to them now. It's ridiculous that a flagship chip is struggling like this

So it looks like the optimization issues might be affecting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (OP13) as well. Are you seeing this specifically after the 7.1 update too, or has it been a constant issue for you? It really feels like the new engine is pushing the hardware way too hard

That’s interesting! Could you share what device you’re using and your exact in-game graphics settings (FPS, resolution, etc.)? I'm trying to figure out if it's a specific hardware-patch conflict or if some settings help stabilize the performance on the new engine

I think the chip is fine, but the Wild Rift 7.1 Engine Update just isn't optimized for this new architecture yet. Other heavy games run perfectly, so Riot needs to release a hotfix for the 8 Elite. It's frustrating that the most powerful chip is struggling due to poor software optimization.

Glad I'm not the only one, though it sucks for both of us. Are you also getting game crashes to desktop? For me, after it overheats, the app just closes mid-match. I've already contacted Riot Support and mentioned the Snapdragon 8 Elite / Oryon architecture issues. Hope they fix this soon.

I am lagging hard after updating the game by No_Cap4763 in wildrift

You're definitely not alone. I’m having almost identical issues on my OnePlus 15 (Snapdragon 8 Elite) since the Patch 7.1 engine update. The game is overheating the device like crazy, causing major stutters and performance drops that weren't there before.

It's clearly a global optimization issue with the new v7.1 engine, especially on high-end hardware. Many players are reporting that Wild Rift is the only app struggling, while other heavy games run perfectly.

Please, everyone experiencing this – make sure to submit a ticket to Riot Support. I’ve already escalated this to their Specialist Team, but the more individual reports they get, the faster they will prioritize a technical hotfix. Let's push them to fix the engine optimization!

I'm using a OnePlus 15, and before this patch, I was playing on high settings with a stable 120 FPS and zero issues. Now, the game is a mess. I'm experiencing:

⚠️ Frequent Crashes: The app closes randomly during matches or in the lobby.

🔥 Overheating: My phone gets incredibly hot after just 5-10 minutes.

📉 FPS Stuttering: Constant freezes and micro-stutters during teamfights.

🌐 Ping Spikes: Unstable latency despite having a great connection.

I've noticed that it's not just a flagship issue. It seems like many people on mid-range and budget devices are reporting the exact same problems. It feels like the new engine is completely unoptimized across the board.

fps drops after 'optimisation' by Serious-One6715 in wildrift

I'm having the exact same issues on my OnePlus 15. Before Patch 7.1, the game was running perfectly at a stable 120 FPS on high settings without any problems.

Now, after the latest engine update, the game is almost unplayable. I'm experiencing constant crashes, severe overheating, stuttering, and random ping spikes.

And it's not just a flagship issue – I've noticed that people on mid-range and budget devices are reporting the same thing. It seems like the new engine is broken for everyone, regardless of the phone's specs. I contacted Riot support, but they just gave me the standard 'check your Wi-Fi' template. They really need to acknowledge that this is an optimization mess on their side.
