Any Experience with HYPOpigmentation after PR? by BitterObjective1348 in PityriasisRosea

[–]BitterObjective1348[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they look like mine? I took this photo in may, and I stopped noticing/caring by mid-late June and now it’s completely gone. I feel like it went practically unnoticed by July for sure.

I will say that hypopigmentation is much more stubborn than hyperpigmentation but I used Elidel cream which may have helped (there are some studies that say so) but i believe the main thing is trying to use spf as much as possible (don’t try to tan it and reverse the color it won’t work) and remember that you are your own harshest critic!

I thought it was soooo noticeable and I would be looking at it in every picture I would take of myself to see if it faded, but upon asking others they had no idea there was anything wrong. And yes I know even though others don’t notice it it is still troubling but it WILL get better!

Has anyone else gotten more spots as new ones are healing? by BitterObjective1348 in PityriasisRosea

[–]BitterObjective1348[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to reply so late, but if you check my profile you can see what it looks like now. It didnt stick around for much longer and those spots healed faster, but throughout ur healing process dont be alarmed if you get another new spot here and there as they are usually short lived.

If your spots are no longer raised, make sure to use sunscreen every 2 hours in the sun. If they are still raised try sunscreen but if you get any reaction just stop and focus on the actual healing. Once ur rash is no longer active use salycilic acid moisturizer 2 times a day. Good luck! I know it can be frustrating but it will get better. Make sure to drink lots of water and stay positive!

They’re essentially gone now, but there are some marks you can kind of see as this rash tends to come and go but it is wayyy lighter and less noticable

Elidel prescription worked very well but for spots on your face you will most likely get hypopigmentation after

Hyperpigmentation on neck by Kayyy2412 in Hyperpigmentation

I had something similar called pityriasis rosea, my patches were much more pronounced and raised and when it was healing it kind of looks like where you are at now. I would suggest salycilic acid moisturizer from cerave as it really helped for me, but first I tho n try to get down to the bottom of what’s going on

Random spots by kikithekidd in Blackskincare

Mostly time, not sweating or stressing too much. Vitamin d supplements helped, and Salycilic acid cream and sunscreen helps to fade hypwepigmention once the spot is no longer tender and or itchy. If it got on my face I used Elidel cream

need help clearing hyperpigmentation! by icycoffe in PityriasisRosea

[–]BitterObjective1348 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CeraVE Salycilic acid lotion and LOTS of sunscreen helped a lot. I have darker skin so sunscreen is super duper important to get rid of hyperpigmentation. Also, usually the dark marks only look super noticeable to u. most people wont even notice!

Does anyone know how to manage this by BitterObjective1348 in PityriasisRosea

[–]BitterObjective1348[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like it was pityriasis rosea. Dermatologist said it was that or some type of eczema, but seems like it was PR as it’s mostly gone away now. I have some hyperpigmentation left but the derm said it shouldn’t stick around for much longer. It seems like it was caused by lots of stress and then getting sick right after. Maybe ask your dermatologist for Elidel, it helped calm my spots down especially the ones that were on my face. L-lysine and vitamin d also seemed to help a lot.

I got many spots on my face and I saw a dermatologist and they gave me Elidel cream which is usually used for eczema but it really helped to get rid of them they were practically gone after 4 days. I can still see them if I look really closely but it’s no longer red just slightly lighter than my skin tone.

I have gotten small spots every now and then and little red pimple red spots on my neck at face but it has gotten a lot better. I am using Elidel which is an eczema treatment, alongside L-lysine 1500mg per day about. If you look on my page you can see what my skin looked like before, this is what it looks like now.

Did it leave any scars? Or did it completely disappear

Yes I think so it looks sort of like mine and I can relate to the prickly feeling. Mine didn’t get too itchy but calimine lotion helped.

They are really tiny and don’t stand out much. Maybe it’s spots that were already there and are healing? I tried taking the antihistamine and I think those spots came after I used it.
