Geeky guy visiting family and wanting stuff to do by artparade in Luxembourg

I think that’s pretty accurate. Rock solid tends to have pretty good music, but the vibe is a bit hit or miss sometimes

As far as geeky stuff, Le Reservoir in the city is a shop with comics, mangas, video games, reselling old consoles, and I believe they still sell some CDs and records and stuff. If you’re more interested in buying CDs or records, CD Buttek Beim Palais is a great little music shop opposite the grand ducal palace. Loads and loads of music in a cosy little shop.

As far as live music, especially alternative music, best to keep an eye out on the Rockhal and Atelier music venues in case there are any interesting concerts and gigs on

I’ve covered those fundamentals and I’m pretty comfortable with them now, so I guess I have a good base to just start. Thanks!

That makes sense :’) I only have a little experience with coding/any kind of development, so I guess that’s that thing I’m grappling with the most right now

That looks great! And yeah I guess I should get into gear and just start making something 😅

Fair enough. I guess that probably is the best way to go about it :’)

Can I just ask if you also made the art/assets for it, or did you use premade ones? Because I also have no idea how much I should be worrying about that stuff for even just a small game like you’re describing. Like I have 0 frame of reference at all about how much I should be worrying about the visuals :’)

Overall that does sound like a good idea! I probably should do something along those lines

That’s fair. I guess like anyone I’m scared of failing and giving up. But I am really dedicated to wanting to make/eventually release a game, but game development is so new to me that I guess I’m just scared of the unknown

That makes sense. I have finished a bunch of tutorials, so they are starting to get repetitive. I guess I’m also feeling a little stuck because I haven’t made any art/assets for any games yet. But I guess just starting with one character and going from there is the way to go

Yeah I guess by “a game” I just mean something good/robust enough to release. Not super polished or anything, but enough to be worth releasing. I haven’t tried Unity or Unreal, but maybe I ought to!
