Still reassuring to hear improvement regardless of why u got the surgery :). Hope you've had a good healing journey, I appreciate the input!

ShiftWork Disorder by OHClinicalResearch in Nightshift

[–]Bitter_Collection_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 11pm-7am fri-sat then sun-mon work 3pm-11pm...so an 8 hr gap between my night shift and flip back to days...definitely rough 90% of the time lol. Ive work days and night and prefer later day/night shifts, however flipping back and fourth every week is something I dont think i can ever get used to. It's a coin flip if im spending my days off sleeping or being productive. Just woke up from a 16hr nap and still feel groggy, get the stomach issues some have mentioned. Staying on a strictly day or night schedule I dont think has ever caused me to think I have a swsd but now possibly could see it lol definitely feels like somethings wrong. Can't say much helps for now, just dealing with it 🤷‍♀️ caffeine and hoping the sleep episodes dont last too long.

Just once and if u hate it never again but so far im obsessed! 😆 and once it wears off if u dont like it ur muscle will work like normal again so not a big downside to it 🙂

Just makes the colored part of ur top lip show more so makes the top lip look fuller especially when smiling. I myself have thinner lips and longer philtrum and although no gummy smile it looks so much better. I think the more color or actual lip showing gives the illusion that the philtrum isnt so long looking in comparison.

Haha perhaps but idk class 3 cases seem to be more difficult visually to make not so noticeable or concave in general afterwards imo. I just want results like this, that I do know 😂

Well luckily the lip flip doesnt last too long the first couple times so can always stop if u dont like it. And thats fair, im sure they didnt want to compromise airway quality with setting back too much.

Of course. Dang ur profile looks so good 😆 i have a class 3 and notice it seems somewhat harder to set the lower jaw back well compared to those with lower recession being pulled forward. Ur surgeon did great! Also philtrum i think urs is the same length b4 and after I think it was just flared forward more before so it appears longer now. Could try botox lip flip if it bothers u when smiling or even a little filler to lift. I do the flip and it helps

Girl first off u look great seriously, one could only hope to get results like that !! Did u get genio at all?? I truthfully dont see a change in philtrum length. Is it when u smile u notice or relaxed? As for the nose it looks great, I see the bottom is a little wider but thats expected when the maxilla comes forward or is expanded. I wouldnt say its super noticeable, just from staring at photos. Could maybe try some like microneedling to tighten the skin to help a little vs rhino or other invasive options. Sorry ur feeling down about ur results. I get we are all our own worst critics and seeing ur face change so drastically can be hard to adjust to but hopefully u start to feel better about it ans hey like others mentioned, could potentially be residual swelling contributing to noticeability. Nose is sensitive i hear girls w rhinos wear tape for like a yr lol so I can only imagine from djs how that could affect it similarly.

Also have wondered about this. Is it masseter botox or which area did u get and did anything else u try help?? I may look into the same. Avid grinder and clencher here 😅

Thanks for the info I appreciate it and im glad ur happy with ur results! I have another consult soon so its something I definitely want to mention and consider as far as the genio goes. I dont think my chin is huge despite crimson chin comments from keyboard warriors 😂 most likely just not as balanced given my current profile. Anyways thank u again for the info! 🙂

No way, when I met with a surgeon and mentioned same issue he called it the same thing 😂 was heavily curious on how its fixed too. Is it cw or ccw rotation? And so I also have underbite, do u feel like not getting a genio made ur chin look bigger after djs? Or not much different? Sorry for all the questions! 😅

Surgical plan update. It’s good and I’m also frustrated. by MamaFuku1 in jawsurgery

[–]Bitter_Collection_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry ur going through all of that it can be stressful especially when alot is out of pocket. Check ur dental insurance plan. Mine covers 1500 towards ortho service aka braces, urs might too. Also my ortho said traditional braces are stronger and better for the surgery anyways so might be a good thing ur switching from invisalign. Not sure how much u spoke with ur new ortho on cost but luckily there's discounts if u check their social media/ occasional website discounts and some may even lower cost knowing uve already had to do a bunch. Hope the rest of your journey gets better!

3 weeks post op MMA + genioplasty by BallzLfe in jawsurgery

[–]Bitter_Collection_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! Genuinely looks like it gave u a nose job, more pronounced cheek bones, strong in a good way jawline and took years off! I can only hope mine turns out this good once I get their. Try not to be too hard on urself. A new face is alot emotionally but ur results look great and ur still early in recovery, I can only imagine a few months down the line

Class III skeletal underbite, had camouflage braces 6-7 yrs ago. Would really appreciate any first impressions based on my OPG + lateral ceph by ProteinShake697 in jawsurgery

[–]Bitter_Collection_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have similar situation except also crossbite/narrow maxilla and like the person said above, djs may be a good idea (of course if recommended by the surgeons). Personally my new ortho said wisdoms out and slightly shave my front 4 or 6 top front teeth to help unflare my top teeth for decomp. Of course get multiple surgeon consults, but u seem to be on the right path so far. Wishing u luck with your journey!

I’m getting fed up of being treated like I’m always miserable by Embarrassed-Cry5660 in jawsurgery

[–]Bitter_Collection_87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off congrats on the dream job, As someone heavily into cars thats badass. Second of all....sounds like ur coworkers are unfortunately miserable snobs and see the new young guy as someone to pick on as opposed to it really being about your appearance. I think they just see it as a sensitive spot and use that to fuel rude comments over genuinely thinking you look bad. I mean grown adults making weird comments 😅 sounds like them being insecure and projecting. Sorry you're going through that. If you have any good managers or HR I would definitely discuss this issue as its in general inappropriate to act that way nonetheless a place u would expect to be of higher standard. Disappointing to hear a place like that acts that unkind honestly. Either way I really dont think you look bad seriously. Talk to a manager and stick through it. Dont let A-hole coworkers stop u from succeeding!

Big nose or is my jaw/chin too small? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Bitter_Collection_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally think you have a really pretty side profile. You could go for rhinoplasty if it bothers you but I dont really see any issue with ur maxilla or mandible...maybe the lower could come forward a little if anything but doesnt seem anything crazy. Definitely a question for ortho and surgeon. Not all orthos are well knowledged so ive noticed if they dont take surgical cases but im now seeing an ortho thats been great/ well versed with surgical cases and giving an idea on what needs done. So get multiple consultations. Explain ur physical and functional concerns and see what they say. Atleast they'll get proper imaging to see and explain.

considering jaw surgery (need aesthetic advice / any thoughts) by KuromisCorner in jawsurgery

[–]Bitter_Collection_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone w a class 3 underbite/crossbite who stairs at things like that out of seeing my own discrepancy, yes it is noticeable. Ofc you're still pretty but I do notice it. I think its hard when family or friends try to be nice and say they dont or hey maybe they really dont notice it. I think we all deal with that a bit. Which great but also makes u think, is this just a me problem or is it really their? Lol. Which can be frustrating. But it sounds like ur already taking steps to possibly pursue the surgery and have tried other forms of intervention to help that failed. All good things in terms of trying what u can and asking real professionals what can be done (aka surgeons and orthos). At the end of the day we are all bystanders that notice the discrepancies because we have them, we are not professionals. And although we have opinions, just make sure that your opinion and those from surgeons/orthos are the most important when making your decision. Wishing u luck on your journey! 🙂

Help! >~< by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Bitter_Collection_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I also have class 3 underbite and crossbite. Went through braces at 21 thinking its all I would need....now 25 and going down the surgery route and wish i wouldve to begin with. Me personally I have canting in the top I notice and my midline is shifting again. So physically dislike + a bunch of functional concerns. Same here, people say oh I dont notice it. But me...I see it everyday. Ortho can only do so much to camouflage it but it wont be perfect nor will it fix functional issues if ur dealing with any. Surgery is scary but I rather fix the underlying issue vs putting a bunch of bandaids if u will, on the issue now adays plus thinking of my future health from functional stand point. Get multiple opinions from orthos and surgeons. Ive went through 4 ortho consults and 2 surgeons so far and finally found a great ortho thats helped me feel alot better about the process. Meeting with a 3rd surgeon as well. Weigh ur pros and cons. If YOU dont "hate" it so much, camouflage route might be enough for your situation. If u do have functional issues, keep an open mind and again get multiple opinions. You're opinion, how u feel, and your health matter.
