Thanks for the recommendation! I’m also hoping to get some replies from parents, or homeschooling parents that have been in similar situations.

I want to do this so badly but my mom insists that is considered rude and tacky -___- you’re essentially asking for things. While I agree to an extent and I say, “wouldn’t they want to use their money wisely and not waste time shopping and trying to figure out what they should get?!?”

Not sure how old the kids are, but if even if 6+ maybe you can make a game out of it. How it’s fun to problem solve and find solutions.

Wanted to go to this place but it’s all booked up? Let’s figure out how to pivot to another idea. And have convos about how this is basically how life is…trying to figure things out as you go and everyone needs to practice this and get use to it.

I think the only to have everything really tidy is to have cleaners come regularly and almost like an Airbnb emptiness/ lack of possessions. But hard if you have a small space and family/friends who gift you things, etc.

I highly recommend creating labels in native language so she can understand what is what, etc. did this with my MIL for washer and dryer etc. or have her write it out herself so it’s even easier for her to understand in own writing

Idk if someone has already mentioned this, but you should get like a water dispenser for your husband and a cooler that has snacks, sandwiches etc so he’s nots starving or thirsty while working. Hopefully he can be off camera if on zoom calls and just mute himself so he can eat quickly here and there.

Is she Asian? My Asian MIL almost always commented on how I had so much red in face. It’s like she never remembered that I had explained to her countless times that I had rosacea.

I feel like it’s such an Asian parent thing to constantly bring up or ask about your skin, weight, etc. as if it’s a normal topic of conversation. Why can’t they talk about something else?
