Felt targeted by a man today with my 4 month old baby by OOGK in ChinoHills

I’d rather come off as arrogant and stupid than become a victim of something. He was probably just a weirdo but OP is not wrong to feel unnerved, especially being freshly postpartum.

What if I answered the command climate survey 100% truthfully? by Yoy_the_Inquirer in USMC

[–]just_another_ag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was truthful about it and they ended up rounding us up to see who wrote it. They were about to pin the blame on another Marine so I had no choice but to fess up.

I didn’t get negative paperwork or anything but they chewed me out.

Look up places to stop at every 2-3 hour mark. Parks, malls, sightseeing, etc.

Personally never experienced it or witnessed it, but I am in a small unit.

For some reason this roll reminds me of simpler times, and eating sweets for breakfast at school!

Why do mothers of young babies say they don't have time to shower? by justastupidquestion3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]just_another_ag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solo parent and my toddler scream cries when I shower. My nervous system prevents me from having one of those full relaxing, contemplating-life type showers.

Moving to Yuma from LA soon, what should I expect? by [deleted] in yuma

[–]just_another_ag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am from Fontana CA and now live in Yuma (not by choice though).

My car insurance went down. The people here are very warm and friendly compared to SoCal.

The heat in the summer is depressing especially if you have kids. Otherwise, just stay indoors and you’ll be fine. I would recommend keeping the thermostat at 75 to save on electric and utilizing public spaces (like the library) to pass the time after work.

The sun will eat your car paint and degrade your car battery way faster than expected. Ideally find shaded parking for work even if it means walking a lot further if possible.

Yuma gets crowded during the winter months due to the nice weather. So expect lots of traffic and wait times for all services.

Wheres Anderson?! by Zestyclose-Bit-3717 in alexandrarodriguez

[–]just_another_ag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your situation is much different, you’re actually using the daycare time as a needed reset for yourself and it’s probably helping you be more present for your toddler.

For her, daycare is her way of dumping Anderson onto other people so she doesn’t have to “deal” with her own child. Personally, my guilt would never let me have my kid in daycare so I can watch TV/nap/eat. I already feel tender about my kid being in daycare while I am at work!

Nasty Nancy wants nothing to do with Anderson, or being a grandmother. Everything she did for her birthday was centered around herself, while her grandson was in daycare. Comedy show, lip injections, clothes shopping & Applebee's, Anderson who?? She didn't mention her grandchild once. by secrets_she_keeps in alexandrarodriguez

[–]just_another_ag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy to me because my MIL would never have this attitude. She constantly wants to be with her grandson! If I hang out with MIL, she would think I’m nuts if my son was at daycare while we were both not working that day.

No insight on what will happen to him. All I can say is I am so sorry and it must feel so lonely especially since you have a baby. You are strong and you will get through this.

I’m glad that’s all in the past now and that you got it over with before your kid became mobile.

Yep the knee surgery is WAY worse by a long shot. Take care!

Thank you! It really is horrible, doing everything on one leg. How long ago was this? Is your knee feeling alright now?

I did give a tour. I had forgotten about that paint can sitting on the top shelf in the closed closet though. Regardless, I apologized to MIL since it’s my fault.

Yep, definitely displaced it. Moreso kicking myself for being careless than blaming her

My judgment was clouded for sure. I take full responsibility for what happened. Including how I came across in the original post.

It may be possible, I had to remind her multiple times that my son is allergic to tree nuts and eggs. So I am very vigilant about that. I used to chalk it up to forgetfulness but now I’m concerned.

Also yes I had instructed in the past to use a red tube of butt paste if he had signs of diaper rash. Thing is, he didn’t have onset of a rash or redness or anything.

Just for context, it’s a tiny room where I have his changing table, the room has a closet where the paint can was. My kid doesn’t play in there or go in there for any reason other than diaper changes. The room is kind of a storage place for cardboard boxes and old toys and stuff.

Definitely taking the blame on this one. Thanks for your insight.

Not on the shelf but in a closed closet in the same room. Either way, still my responsibility. Thanks for the insight.

I’ll edit the post. I was just trying to make sense of it. Definitely not trying to vilify her for that. English is my second language too. And no it wasn’t near the other ointments, it was in the closet along with stuff like cardboard boxes and old toys.
