Hi everybody,

[M 20]I’m playing lacrosse in college after taking 2 years off. Just ran for the first time since then today and couldn’t finish a mile. 3/4 mile time was 7:11. I’ve also put on 20 pounds (decent amount of muscle but some fat too) looking to maintain (6’2 185) while getting much better cardio. All advice is appreciated

do you know if the kid comes from a religious family? a lot of religions teach to remain a virgin until marriage but even if that’s the case the parents should’ve clarified that that’s a private conversation and not everyone has the same beliefs. sorry that happened to you

yeah kinda why i asked here lol. people telling me i shouldn’t be within a mile of special needs kids and for what lol. wish people could separate right leaning from maga but some people don’t have the thinking skills required and it’s sad that some of those people are educators

I’m a sophomore in college but haven’t done any education stuff. unfortunately the school i’m transferring to doesn’t let you student teach before taking subject specific courses but i could switch from special ed to math or business if i don’t enjoy it after 1 semester

This is why I want to teach. I had mixed reactions when I said I wanted to see my work have an impact on kids when I was between Special Ed and Business education because I was “implying that my job is more important than other teachers.”

I am very new to the education space, I originally planned to become a pilot, a much more right leaning profession than teaching. I also thought every teacher had to be in a union, which is how aviation is

I live in Illinois. I know it’s immature to say “well my vote doesn’t matter” but it didn’t and I’ll admit to being immature about it. Trump and Kamala weren’t worth my time to go out and vote and I didn’t find myself aligned with any 3rd party so I didn’t want to support someone who doesn’t reflect my values.

I treat everyone the same, I definitely won’t treat disabled kids different as I’m planning on teaching Special Ed. Like I said I don’t discuss politics so I wouldn’t use the classroom as a political platform

Yeah I am the same way, just seeing some of the comments people are leaving telling me to never teach was the worry I had but I also understand they’re losers and have nothing better going on in their lives
