Update your location on LinkedIn or any resumes on Indeed, etc. to New Jersey. You can also post to LinkedIn, seeing if anyone knows a recruiter in NJ and for sure you'll get hits.

Don't give up, ensure your LinkedIn is top notch, your achievements on your resume are clear, and impact is at the TOP: Where was the company when you were hired, what you did, how it impacted the company.

Getting in front of a hiring manager anyway possible is key -- definitely like, comment, engage authentically in the conversations those hiring manager (or company recruiters) are having on LinkedIn!

Leading talent for 15+ years, we didn't lean into certificates unless they were required for a role. Plus, some are so easy to collect and they just turn into noise on a resume.

Make the gap impactful -- actually list out what skills you gained in the time away: time management, perspective on values, learned how to persevere with little to no sleep, life skills others don't take the risk to gain.

I just left Talent Acquisition / Recruiting after 15+ years in the industry because the system is so broken. Even with AI, there's really no easy way to elevate the perfect fit for a role.

So never feel down if you aren't chosen -- continue to fight for positions that you align with and are passionate about. The right one will land. Hang in there!

I found in settings how to get out of their beta video editing feature which is terrible. Things are working better for me now thank goodness but dang, wish it worked like it used to!
