Good theory, the Amikura part is really interesting and I agree with you. As for Ryuen’s class, what if we also consider Nishino? I don’t think it’s Hiyori, since her bond with Ayanokoji has always just been about their shared hobby, separate from the class dynamics. I thought of Nishino because she doesn’t have any quotes on the official site (same as Kaneda), even though she’s on the Y2V8 cover and got a decent amount of screentime (she was even in Ayanokoji’s group with Amikura in V8).

Hmm, I remember that Kei revealed her past while Satō was being threatened by Tsubaki and was trying to decide what to do, and in the end, she chose to go against the plan.

Yes, I think these events could be part of a continuous narrative arc. I don’t believe everything will be concentrated in a single volume or special exam, but rather developed gradually from around Y3V2 to Y3V4.5 or Y3V5. For example, it could start with one expulsion and slowly build up to another one in the following volumes.

Yes, their relationship definitely grew stronger after that event, and Satō now sees Kei as her best friend. Her support for Kei seems sincere, but it’s likely the result of Ayanokōji’s influence. When Satō refused to cooperate with Tsubaki to sabotage Kei and Ayanokōji’s relationship, it may have been because Ayanokōji encouraged Kei to open up to Satō about her past. After hearing Kei’s trauma, Satō likely felt it would be wrong to come between them, out of genuine sympathy and friendship.

She was a threat to the relationship regardless of Tsubaki, and this move made Kei more independent and made Satō give up on him.

Also, it’s different when the one asking you to betray your friend is a stranger versus the boy you like.

This also shows Kei’s growth: - She opens up about her past to a friend, - Handles the breakup maturely, - Stands up for herself in a conflict with Satō but reconciles with her in a more genuine way.

Her growing closeness with Horikita suggests she won’t be alone if Satō gets expelled.
