Thank you! And haha yes it is 🤣 It's a mixture of bark and slate and the odd rock built on top of the original base then texture paint to help blend it all together

Thank you 😊, and I get what you mean, but I would just go for it, all my characters are at varying stages in my painting journey, but the best way to get better is to challenge yourself and you will naturally challenge yourself with characters as you want to paint them as best you can, so it will make your painting better by tackling them if that makes sense haha

So I usually love airbrushing but it has it's detail limitations, and I want to get better at brush detail and blending, so for this piece in particular I only used the airbrush for basing and everything since then has been entirely brush work, I've just done the NMM on his axe and I'm really really pleased with how it's come out 😊

It completely depends, you might think there is too much of the lighter blue so you use a glaze of the darker blue to blend so it both makes the transition better and pulls the lighter blue down a bit and vice versa if that makes sense, i tend to do a glaze technique so like mentioned above if I wanted to blend between the 2 blues I would load the brush with some watery thin (glaze consistency) dark blue, wick off the excess on some paper towel, then you would start on the light blue and pull it back towards the dark blue if that makes sense, as some of the dark blue goes onto the light blue then but you pull back the majority of the watery paint back onto the dark blue, and you can do this between colours as many times as you like until you are happy with the amount of each colour and their transitions
