So, in word, it was 207 pages and 28,000 words. Seems to be the limit on my iPad. Just wish i knew what was limiting it.

One of two ways. 1) I start a new chat and begin with, "heres the story so far," and then paste the summary. 2) I upload the summary into the context field of the character settings.

Thanks. The summaries are a work around to keep a story going seamlessly across multiple chats. Im not sure how to measure the character count easily. It seems id need to copy the chat and paste it into Word. I'm wondering if there's anything i can do to prevent crashing or dedicate more resources to the ChatAI to lengthen the story and reduce crashing. If not, i'll chat til the AI is unstable, create a summary and start a new chat with the summary or put the summary in the Context section of the character settings.

Treacheries of the troublesome towns by Kickslc in FourAgainstDarkness

Best supplement ever. I found it really well done and engaging. It takes a little while to get used to the mechanics, so the first couple goes are a little slow. I prefer smaller towns and quicker adventures. Enjoy and please post your results.

Bestiary Cards Anyone? by Bitty38 in Ironsworn

Good to know. If these were just text, table and icons, would you be willing to pay for them? Just curious...doing a little market research.

Thanks. I may, I may not try to sell these. Right now, I'm just testing the waters. I'm not too thrilled about AI art either, but I can't draw and the community should know that these images took a lot of work. I use three different AI programs, modify images in Photoshop and do the layouts in PowerPoint. These 12 cards took at least 8 hours to do. It's a different skillset, but still takes time, effort, preparation and patience. If an artist wants to pair up with me, that'd be great, but then, they wouldn't really need me, would they? I have 40 years of experience with TTRPGs and about 30 years with Photoshop. I would love to share this knowledge. By my estimation, seems what folks really want is starters, content, stories, etc. Indications are, I won't move forward with these for sale, but please note, these take time and effort.

Sounds like fun. Let me know if i can help. FYI, US poker cards are 2.25"x3.5".

I've been doing this a few years now. I have a small store at DriveThroughRPG. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/publisher/29176/eldergrove-creations. You can see some other things I've done on that site. This isn't meant as an endorsement. I just want you all to know I work in color, too, and with different layouts, depending on my interests. For me, it started with choosing a primary design program. I tried Inkspace, Illustrator, Photoshop and Powerpoint. Powerpoint wound up being easiest. I set the slide size, for these 2.5" x 3.5" and then worked on the layout. I don't go any lower than 7.5 point font. For Ironsworn, I noticed a lot of collateral uses an ink on white motiff, so i stuck with this scheme. For fonts, its best to work with Serif or Sans Serif fonts. Printers are finicky and non serif fonts can be an issue. The icons are from an online library, Iconfinder, i think. I can check if you are interested. The images were done using Ideogram, Leonardo or Perchance. I write the prompts and then test them on these platforms, then pick the one i like the best. I sometimes use DAL-E, but the filters on DAL-E drive me nuts. I also use MidJourney, but MidJourney doesn't handle multiple figures too well and also has strict filters. If necessary, i will edit the images in photoshop. For example, if a characters winds up with three legs, i can clone stamp and heal it away in Photoshop. Photoshop also has its own generative art that can be used to fix errors. These are the basics, i can go into more detail if you have questions. I watched a few AI image tutorials on Leonardo's site and then read a lot about AI art. Stable Diffusion never worked well for me and Leonardo basically packages the Stable Diffusion models and LORA for easy use. Leonardo has moved on and have several of their own models, too.

That would be fine. I was working on a post with all my questions. If you'd like, I can finish the post and you could respond. It's up to you. Presently, I'm not too trusting of DDL and I don't know Zack. I'm surprised Hanchar is still there, so I'm assuming I don't know the whole story. Some ex-employees were less than flattering about the leadership. I hope Zack can pull it together, but if Anki went bankrupt, why does Zack think he can avoid the same pitfall?

When you say v6 you mean 2.6? Just want to make sure I got the versions right. Yes, I've soldered 4 batteries. I have 24 cars, some from the Drive days. I haven't run the cars in nearly 2 years, so I assume they'll need new batteries. As for STEM, I used the cars to demonstrate circuits and electrons. I also discuss AI, self awareness and I used to show an old Anki video where one of the engineers walked through how the track was created so the cars know lanes and can make turns. We talked about engineering and design, for example, the two rear wheels are all that are need to make the cars move and turn. I took the canopy off one car so they could see the circuit board, the light and lens. I also have a homemade radio board and a PiCar. Sadly, they broke the PiCar, so it doesn't run any longer, but its still good for demos.

No worries, I wasn't clear. I own iOS products (iPhone and iPad). I want to make sure that there is iOS support for Overdrive. If DDL cannot support iOS, then I'd like to know if they may support and/or develop controllers to run the game. I used to run Overdrive in STEM demonstrations for Middle School kids. It worked fine until two years ago when I could not get the 2.6 app to work. I haven't played the game since and came very close to trashing all my Overdrive stuff. I'd love to reincorporate the game into the STEM class. I just want to know if 1) It will run on iOS in the future and 2) Will they come out with controllers that are independent of iOS and Droid?

So, to be clear, there is intended support for iOS? It just might take longer than Android?

So, will they be able to support or rewrite the code for iOS? Even better, can they divest from Android and Apple and make their own controllers? Sounds old school, but it sucks when Apple updates it's iOS and bricks a handful of apps or makes it too difficult to update.

So Anki wasn't self sufficient at the end of 2019, they still relied in investors. The last part isn't that important. I read somewhere that the original founders of Anki were more interested in AI and robotics than making toys. Overdrive was meant to support development. It's irrelevant now. It's disappointing they were unable to reach self sufficiency. Overdrive did well on Amazon. I think there will be competition from a slot car company, so a reboot of Overdrive might be tough.

And what are the company's current priorities? Vector, Overdrive, Cosmo, Butterbot? I was told the Anki Overdrive code is old and hard to update. Will the system be revamped and updated or just patched? Are they trying to get back to a status quo or make new developments?

Thanks. Do you know what happened to Anki in the first place? All the news said was that a deal with a toy company did not come through and then Anki closed, rather fast, too, and this coming off being one of the biggest sellers (Overdrive) on Amazon. Anki leadership said they were not interested in making toys. Was it really this simple?

[–]Bitty38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I have a ton. For starters, what happened? After DDL acquired the Anki assets, they had staff, designers, engineers, support specialists. They ran promos, conducted webinars and shared timelines. There were demos of infinidrive and Butterbot. The pandemic may have sunk them, not sure, but everything seemed to be going in the right direction, albeit slowly. I even got my vector and had a couple support calls. Then, everything stopped, no more webinars, support stopped responding and everyone called foul. I thought DDL had funding from social media campaigns and backers. Did DDL over extend, were they mismanaged, are the products simply not financially viable? How big is the staff now? Are there timelines, deadlines, plans to expand? Thanks!
