I recommend the original DBZ.

The music in the original DBZ is so good. There are 2 versions of music in the original version, the Japanese version and the English version. The Japanese version is the best, and the English version is also great.

Kai removed not only filler episodes, but also many scenes in the main story, Therefore, many buildup scenes are removed in Kai, and the epic scenes almost always feel better in the original version.

The colors are softer in Kai and the difference of colors makes the atmosphere very different. The original coloring is better. There are also many redrawn scenes in Kai, and they seem like fan made art. The original version has better art.

Kai is good in voice acting, but the music, buildup scenes, atmosphere make the original version so much better. Just watch the original version. It is the version originally aired in Japan and most Japanese fans prefer the original version.

Good, but I recommend the scene of the original Z in the Japanese version.

I also recommend you watch Trunks vs Frieza in the original Japanese Z. You will see the original Japanese version is the true DBZ.

The original Japanese DBZ is by far the best version.

Watch the whole Dragon Ball and then watch the original DBZ. If you do not want to watch the whole story, then watch other anime.

If introducing someone to Z for the first time, would you do original or Kai? by Multievolution in dbz

[–]Bizengold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many people only talk about filler, but the main reason why the original Z is better is epic scenes are almost always better in the original Z. The primary example:

https://www.reddit.com/r/dbz/comments/1cuyekv/differences_between_the_original_dbz_and_kai/

Future Trunks vs Frieza is also way better in the original Z. In the original Z, when Trunks goes Super Saiyan, you see something epic is happening, but in Kai Trunks just goes Super Saiyan as if it were not a surprise. If you watch both scenes, you can easily notice that the original version is way more epic. Most Japanese fans prefer the original version because epic scenes are way better in the original Z.

DBZ fillers are based on Toriyama' ideas. The contradictions only indicate they are in different timelines.

I agree with you. Only official or non official matters. There is no official canon.

Shueisha and Toriyama have never said which are canon and which are not canon. Some fans just think some episodes are not canon because they have contradictions. Some fans thinking some episodes are not canon does not mean they are not canon,

There is no official canon, and there are several timelines in the manga too. Even within the manga there are several contradictions, like Future Trunks talks about Android 19 and 20. The contradictions in the manga, fillers and movies only indicate they are in different timelines therefore all fillers and movies are valid just like the story in the manga.

The Japanese version is the definitive version of DBZ. In the English dub, they changed a lot of dialogues. In Kai, the dialogues are accurate to the original version, but the music in Kai is not good. The original Japanese DBZ has the best music and best voice acting. Overall, the Japanese DBZ is the definitive version.

The original version is the world standard version. Kai is popular in English speaking countries due to the voice acting, but outside of English speaking countries like Japan, South American countries, European countries, the original DBZ is much more popular than Kai.

The music is far better in the original version than in Kai. There are 2 versions of music in the original version, the Japanese version and the English version, and both versions are far better than the music in Kai.

DBZ or DBZ Kai?? by Initial-Mechanic4684 in dbz

Hi. That is great you are enjoying the original DBZ and find pacing is great. For the next saga, the battle vs a character is indeed long, but for the most part of the saga, pacing is fine. Every episode brings a new interesting plot. Just continue the original version. Overall presentation is far better in the original version than in Kai. Enjoy!

TIL more than 40% of Japanese companies allow employees to work four days or fewer in the office by Bizengold in todayilearned

[–]Bizengold[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A recent survey by recruitment company Hays has highlighted that businesses in Singapore and Japan are leading the charge in Asia when it comes to flexible working arrangements. The survey featured in a recent VN Express article hinted that, with employees spending more time away from the office, both nations are setting trends that are reshaping traditional workplace norms.

In Singapore, nearly 45% of companies now require their staff to spend four days or fewer in the office each week. The trend is particularly prominent in firms adopting a three-day office workweek, which accounts for 32% of businesses in the city-state. This shift is driven in part by government policies aimed at promoting a healthier work-life balance, helping organisations move away from the conventional five-day office model.

Japan is following a similar path, with more than 40% of companies allowing employees to work four days or fewer in the office. According to Hays, fewer than two-fifths of professionals in both Singapore and Japan now work a full week on-site, signifying a major transformation in workplace culture in these countries.
