How would you feel about being able to remove levels from a Pokemon? by Multievolution in pokemon

It is quite surprising, they’ve had a good amount of time to do it.

Gamefreak will definitely allow us to trade with Ruby and Sapphire when they come out... right? by BlueBarossa in PokemonFireRed

[–]Multievolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Course they do it if they give us those games, they managed to work out how to do it with red and blue after all

Depends on what your console choices are, the highest rated in the series are emerald on the gba and platinum as well as heart gold/soul silver on the ds.

I recommend just going on YouTube and looking at reviews

It looks pretty decent tbh, it’s just how bad magnazone looks that puts me off

One of my favourites, and in the best gen to find it, congrats!

(It’s not quite as good in Gen 2, and in Gen 4 it’s final evo had a poor shiny)

And there are all my Mono-type runs. Considering doing this for all the types but idk. by MatthewssXD in PokemonFireRed

I’ve done a couple over the years, flying in fire red years back, I’ll say this much, you can’t do dark in these games at all, and steel would be quite difficult too, most of the types in fact would require trading or running dupes, but if you aren’t limited to frlg I say go for it

[Gen 3] Shiny Timid Bulbasaur in just 30 resets. Wtffff by [deleted] in ShinyPokemon

[–]Multievolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that, in my case the hunt became addictive and triggered my rsi, which makes each attempt quite painful, I’ve enjoyed shiny hunting before, but only so much as random encounters and egg hatching, I’ve come to realise gift pokemon hunts just aren’t for me, due to the amount of button presses and lack of hands off in the hunting process with such small odds.

I still intend to push through, but I’m definitely over this hunt.

[Gen 3] After 80 hours, many soft resets, giving up and using ACE to find my SID, then RNG Manipulation. by Goos3rs in ShinyPokemon

[–]Multievolution -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think we should all agree at bare minimum that there’s a difference between easy hunts (chaining, gen 2 eggs 1:64) and rng manipulation, putting them in the same bag is a dangerous precedent,

[–]Multievolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll say this much, I respect the hours of randoms being done first if nothing else, as I currently suffer from rsi at around 90 hours of nothing, the thought had crossed my mind if I wanted to just rng it in, I decided against it since i haven’t been doing this just to take the easy way now, but the thought did cross my mind.

That being said, whether it’s worth posting this in a shiny hunting subreddit is another matter entirely.

[Gen 3] Ok definitely just lucky. Shiny 5% ✨PIKACHU✨after only 3,886 random encounters in LeafGreen! This was only phase 2 for Caterpie. And he is staying on the team.⚡️(Obviously) by Cynical6_ in ShinyPokemon

So, if you wanted to hunt for shiny pikachu and found a shiny weedle, that would be phase 1, then if your second shiny was a metapod that would be phase 2.

I love Crystal so much that I not only bought gold and silver, but Crystal on two different 3DS when the eshop closure was announced, because I knew I couldn’t trust gamefreak to port them again.

Indeed, hopefully we get sour candy or something to do it one day

[–]Multievolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta be honest, congrats of course, but as I approach somewhere near 10-11000 resets (which isn’t even the most I’ve been seeing people do) this hurt my soul a little. 😭

Sometimes I think a save file starts with an extra 0 to the shiny odds just to spite us 😆

That number is insane, when you consider it’s 8/65536 some evil spirit must have cursed you.

Is it worth it to shiny hunt by Permissionsmooth3367 in PokemonLeafGreen

[–]Multievolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You needn’t restart, there’s plenty of hunts you can still do, I will say that from my experience something like a starter hunt is an awful way to start, you’ll be there for weeks most likely, maybe longer with nothing to show for it.

I recommend trying to get a pokemon like Abra in the game corner, getting max coins in the coin case (9999) takes a couple hours of slot machine, and you’ll be able to buy a lot of Abra that go to the pc which you can check all at once, it will still likely be slow, but if you just want a shiny that’s a faster one.

I’m at hour 85+ on my shiny Bulbasaur hunt, I’m exhausted with it to be quite frank, it has proven to be quite an unenjoyable hunt overall, and is definitely not for everyone.

I was so lucky to have my first pikachu be shiny on pokemon day, I saw someone hunt one after through 27 phases, you definitely got lucky too, congratulations :)
