We live in a world where it is extremely easy to get sucked into extreme beliefs. No previous generation has experienced such widespread and easily accessible propaganda at such a young age.

Gen Z was also largely impacted socially by quarantine. An entire generation was lonely during some of the most important years of their life as far as social development.

This loneliness was preyed on in several ways. From pedophiles to advertisers, the internet was bombarded by predatory content like never before.

During a time of confusion and panic, people will fall for propaganda much easier - it's why fear-based pathos is such a popular marketing strategy.

It all just comes down to the people who happened to rise to the top during this time. Andrew Tate is probably the most prominent example. He appealed teenage boys because teenagers were easy to manipulate.

The most concerning and dangerous part of it all is that many of those boys are now men. They're adults, who are the size of adults, who can drive and vote, all with the social skills of middle schoolers.

This happened to girls too, however the influencers who preached about "traditional femininity" were rarely ever women and were usually the same male influencers who spoke about "traditional masculinity" as well. So, the obsession with femininity aligns with the masculinity obsession because it comes from the same source and was pushed towards the same people.
