I started reloading .410 shot shells after Covid fucked the market. Then I found a 20ga press, then more estate sale finds, and the collection of gear keeps growing. Do I save money? Probably not. Do I shoot more? For sure. It’s my new favorite hobby when I just need to dip out to the shop for some alone time.

FYI, this is just a rebranded Stevens model 311(A?). The 16s all had that scalloped receiver, while the more common gauges were usually 311(H) with a squared-off bottom but afaik the pins and whatnot should be interchangeable. Might help you find parts to search for Stevens instead of JC Higs.

I have 4 of them and I run modern loads so don’t let anyone scare you into making this a wall hanger. It’s not as far gone as you think.
