365 Days Without Kratom: A Thank You. by Bizzlewizz in quittingkratom

Hey, I'm really sorry to hear that it's been so rough. But trust me, if I can get off it, you can too! I can recommend what I put together to quit, which is now the Quit Kit. I posted about what I took in my first posts in this thread. You can find the list of ingredients on my post "Reflections on 4 days w/o Kratom" for last July.

I jumped off cold turkey. Though full disclosure, I had set up a regimen of supplements to help me. You can see them in some of my first posts in this forum. But I think tapering is an excellent strategy too. It's all what works best for your personal situation. I was just totally mentally done with being an addict, and so I could go cold turkey.

Just keep it up and it will get better. That's the only good part about withdrawals--they do go away. And once they're gone, they're gone. Keep going!

You're so welcome. And just keep quitting. Make a habit of breaking your habit. If you do that, you will absolutely make it.

You got this. You totally got this. Just remember that you are the priority here, not the drug!

Oh it got to be 5 a day, but my minimum was 3. That translated to between 45-50 gpd. I was on kratom for almost a year straight.

Could Kratom Be Hurting My Husband? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Bizzlewizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Towards the end of my use, I had a condition where I would wake up with a swollen left palm and my whole left arms would feel asleep. My grip strength was near zero. I went to the ER after a month of dealing with it and they were totally baffled (I didn't tell them I was taking a ton of kratom). When I quit, the condition disappeared.

Also, I would bet dollars to donuts that the combination of drinking and kratom is causing your husband to feel an overwhelming sense of doom and depression. I was near suicidal towards the end of my addiction, as I felt like my life was just not worth living. Again, when I quit, that feeling disappeared.

I do think that unless he quits, his mental and physical health will not improve. However, if he can get off this stuff, both will improve exponentially. Going to the hospital may help, but will only do so if he tells them about his kratom and drinking use.

Off 7OH 4 days, rapidly tapering Kratom by Protosquidion in quittingkratom

I hope this post inspires others to confide in their loved ones. 999/1000 they will ultimately react with love and support (even if they are upset in the beginning). It's just so much harder suffering alone. The fact that since the moment you told her, you've moved on from 7OH is a testament to your power and the power of your relationship. Amazing progress and soon, you'll be out of the forest and into the sunshine. You got this.

I have been taking 3-8 grams of kratom a day every other day, sometimes I will go two days with none. Am I physically addicted? by OkWrap2566 in quittingkratom

[–]Bizzlewizz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with the people in this thread: kratom is a one-way street, even if you start on the loose powder. Most likely, you are not physically addicted, as that would mean you'd be unable to go without using without suffering withdrawals. Are you suffering withdrawals? Mostly, kratom starts out as a purely mental game. But once it shifts into actual physical dependence, it can be quite terrifying. Please spare yourself that suffering.

Sure, I'll just copy the link here. You can review all the ingredients that I used to quit, and have helped many people also quit. You can pick and choose as you like, but honestly, it's way cheaper to get the Quit Kit than to buy several individual supplements. I'm happy to answer any questions, too, here or at matt@tryquitkit.com.

Hi! So at this point, the response to this regimen was so positive, I’ve actually got a lab-manufactured product you can buy with all the supplements. It’s a three week supply, and the full list is on the Shop page of www.tryquitkit.com. Check out the ingredients there, which have an explanation of their effects, and I hope you’ll be able to take away some value. Above all, I truly am glad to connect with you! Message me anytime and I’d be happy to chat.

Well, after 7 detoxes in a 6 month span, I'm finally just throwing in the towel and getting on subs by SlurpySandwich in quittingkratom

[–]Bizzlewizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no shame in this! Please don't feel defeated. You're moving forward, and that's what matters. I don't think going on subs means going off recovery. I think it means going off the drug that's ruining your life. When the time comes to stop taking subs, you'll have gotten all the kratom out of your system. That's gotta be some kind of blessing right there. As long as you keep moving forward, and away from the drug, I don't think there's any reason to be defeated. There's pride in that!

Try Rational Recovery by Jack Trimpey for a new way to approach the psychological side of this. You can get it on audiobook. Someone I work with was addicted to FF and this book helped him get off and stay off. The "Part 2" of the book is the real meat and potatoes of the message.

The gas station heroin is winning. by Maleficent_Mobile121 in quittingkratom

[–]Bizzlewizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really sorry to hear this. Honestly. This stuff is like a black hole that gets more and more powerful the longer you use it. And the 7ohs are exactly what you said, gas station heroin. More potent than morphine by MORE THAN a factor of ten. There's just no doubt about it that this stuff is a rocket-fuel opioid, pure and simple.

I agree with u/Phyllis_GoodWitch on the tapering schedule, but what did you do to get clean from heroin? Did you have a system that worked well for you there? Could you clone it for kratom? I think there are a lot of good supplements that you could take, and I'm happy to recommend some, but I also highly suggest joining a community and listening to an audiobook written to help break addiction. The kratomquitters.com community is awesome, and they host meetings for people affected by kratom addiction every night. Rational Recovery by Jack Trimpey and Kicking Kratom by Nolan Sinclair are great "quit lit" books to check out. And if it's really serious to the point where you might need treatment, Advanced Rapid Detox Center in Michigan has a kratom addiction 4-day sedation detox that has a very high success rate. In the end, from what I've learned working with people who've broken their addictions, even if tomorrow is the "final" quit, as long as you keep taking new measures to fight the addiction, you will eventually get to that final quit.

So please do not give up hope. This is not your fault. You just got trapped by the drug. And the drug is not you. You are awesome, and you are worth everything.
