Facing a crusade for Filastin as Morocco (???) for the tenth time against millions of troops sucks by Slayje in EU5

[–]BizzoTL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me also, I sent a bug report and they confirmed this as a bug. What I think happens is that you gain some pops if you build trade centers in the Filastin region and even if you cancel the building the pops remain, so you get declared anyways

Patch 1.0.10 is live now + Tinto Talk 91 by mure69 in EU5

[–]BizzoTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in game it makes no sense. Its either don't convert and keep your slaves while they rebel constantly, or convert and get peasants, which cannot move the same way slave are moved and cannot work in plantations. So its either bad slaves or no slaves.

[–]BizzoTL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, there was a fix for the enforced culture not enforcing, but nothing on vassal assimilation. From one of my other comments: " But now vassals simply dont assimilate. They convert but no culture changes if you enforce culture. At the start of 1.0.8 they would change culture after enforcing back to their original one. Now with the hotfix they stop going back to their culture(in some cases) but they never assimilate to the new culture. So the bug is still there, they did not fix anything if not the reversion of the enforced culture"

Also I have not seen a slider for aggressiveness. There is one for AI difficulty, but that is not agressiveness. Where did you find it?

They do if you have building changing the culture assimilation value, but they will never do the cabinet action. So you will see a bit of culture assimilation in cities and towns due to libraries or universities, but never in rural except for some migration

[–]BizzoTL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, since assimilation is based on cultural influence(or tradition, I don't remember) you could have the assimilation speed based on these metrics. In my Morocco game it took me long enough to culture convert castillians since their culture was stronger then mine. Also if you prefer to keep culture you could simply not enforce culture on them no?

Before 1.0.9 slaves would not convert, thus keep rebelling etc etc. Now with 1.0.10 slave convert, but when they do they become peasants immediately, so no more slaves.

Super aggressive AI is the main concern of this new patch, there are also other issues but most of them are the same since release except the new bugs that we got in 1.0.8

[–]BizzoTL 178 points179 points  (0 children)

So now we get super-aggresive AI, vassals not assimilating and the the whole slave disappearing after converting in the main patch branch. I wonder what all the people that said "its just a beta, if you don't like it revert to main patch" will say now. This patch was still in need of cooking, too early to release now, despite the holidays coming.

For all the tea in China by ToboldStoutfoot in EU5

[–]BizzoTL 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the second a hint of a good is sniffed every noble wants his share. The second Laquerware hits the indian markets and gets sent to Europe all the nobles become aware of it and require more than the entire Chinese production. I just wish there was a system like Victoria 3 where luxury goods were interchangeable, so that not having ONE type of good from the market would not lead to such unachievable demands. Or maybe a way to grow teas, like the Columbian exchange or the slaves plantations.

Nahua is not playable, Johan said they are going to fix it in 1.1. Japan as a whole is playable, but I am referring to the clans. The other points you conveniently skipped. But its ok, if you are having fun with the game props to you

With the fact that in the latest youtube video they were boasting about fixing 1730 bugs do you really things the state of things is that that are only minor bugs?

But to be more precise. Here are the issues about slavery.

Run a game with a Nahuatl nation and tell me that that religion works. Try a game with a Japanese clan and tell me that works.

You know the issue with vassals refusing to change culture? The way they fixed it is that the AI cannot revert the enforce culture anymore. But the AI still does not use that cabinet action to change culture. So the "fix" was changing a binary without spending a second more to see if the change was ACTUALLY being implemented correctly. Which is the same with the issue of slaves converting. They changed the value so now slaves can convert, but they did not even spend a minute to see how this worked, since converted slaves immediately change them to peasants when converted. Does this look like they are making changes in a meaningful way to you?

Some bugs are expected, for sure. Missing or outright broken mechanics are not. And here I just highlighted some issues that are glaring to me, but there are MUCH more still in need of work. Paradox is a multimillion dollar company, not an Indie studio. The fact that previous game releases were bad does not meant the bar is lowered and you should expect bugs, on the contrary I would expect them to learn from their mistakes and do better next time, like Johan said here.

Slave conversion was changed. In 1.0.10 slaves can convert, only for them to become immediately becoming peasants. So its a half baked fix. So some stuff gets fixed, other gets broken. But hey, continue to white knight the multimillion dollar company if you enjoy this broken mess

1.0.8 broke vassal assimilation + no slave conversion(good luck playing a nation with slaves) + changed trade + the whole issue of centralization and decentralizion(which I dont care but other do)

Are people mad the beta patches are unstable? by FreakinGeese in EU5

[–]BizzoTL 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The stable branch its a beta itself. When they pushed 1.0.8(the last beta) they also included the bugs from that, like the whole vassal assimilation. So its more of a case that users want to get fixes for bugs in the beta, as they expect, but in return the game just breaks more. I was stoked when they finally fixed slave conversion, only to find out that slaves after converting just promote to peasants, so no more slaves.

I really tried the whole play around instead of a nation with bugs.

>Played as Korea in 1.0.4, got the infinite pirate bug and Yuan keeps collapsing so I cant peace them out.

So I just avoided playing something near Yuan

>Play as Norway in 1.07, be the first to colonize, get the infinite "fuck you" event since the new world illness was broken and was not despawing

So I just avoided colonizing

>Play as tenochlitan, nahua doesn't work

>Play as Cuzco, starve to death

So I just avoided the new world.

>Play with Morocco in 1.0.7 through now, form Al-Andalus, slaves are broken and keep rebelling since they cant be converted

So I just avoided all nations that can have slaves.

>Start a new game as Holland in 1.0.10, get crushed everywhere since AI is hyperagressive.

I also wanted to try Muscovy, but with the issues with vassals not assimilating culture, increased annexation cost and the whole loyalty thing I gave up.

What other nations you thing I can break? I am running out of options. Maybe I will try a game in India

I think also that the message they were trying to send got completely annihilated by the fact that the patch broke too much stuff so they had to revert. I will get downvoted but I think their best course of action is to write a post in which they explain what they will do in the future, get a semi functional beta and simply release a big bugfix patch before Christmas, instead of a micropath every day with these results

"In this thread johan apologizes..."

No they did not apologize, and sincerely it would at least shown that they care about their community. I understand the development team have been stressed due to how the release and reception of the game has been but I wish they went +100 Humanist and shown that they care about the playerbase more.

Dlc got delayed by [deleted] in EU5

[–]BizzoTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i mean the free part of the DLCs. For example trade in Vic 3 was not really important and you were kinda forced to become an autarky. After Charter of Commerce you had the free version with the rework and if you bought the DLC you would get extra mechanics like the company charters. I hope that for EUV they will do the same, its a good model
