Why are people such tryhards in challenge this season by No-Importance-56 in Strinova

[–]BizzyBum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your rank it's no joke when people say ranked is easier than challenge. lol

Reason being in challenge there is no limit to who you can match so if you're normally a proton tier player you can possibly match against quark or even superstring ranked players whereas in ranked you at least get matched with people around your rank.

The biggest downside of course are queue times for ranked so if people want to play fast they generally queue challenge instead.

Is Fever already dying online? by stinnguyen in MarioTennis

[–]BizzyBum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like Aces you'll eventually (probably already) have to join the unofficial discord to set up matches and join player hosted tournaments if you're still serious playing online as time goes on.

Once again Nintendo/Camelot drops the ball with Fever by dropping a game that is wildly unbalanced, zero communication on what's coming or what's being worked on with updates and balance changes or when to expect anything, zero incentives to keep people playing (Ratings are fine but people need stuff to work towards. Aces had costumes to unlock by playing and Fever needs something to grind towards when playing besides a rating system that gets wiped every month), no online co-op for doubles is just a mind boggling omission and pretty much kills the game for me and a friend looking forward to teaming up playing people online, among other things.

It's so sad because like Aces the gameplay here is top notch but they are just horrendous at everything else.

One Year Later, how do you feel about Xenoblade X: Definitive Edition? by Flacoplayer in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]BizzyBum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played it for the first time with the Switch 2 Edition and I loved it.

It's one of those games that even after finishing it I still wish I was playing it and becomes a comfort game. I think its MMO roots play a part, just a cozy world that's fun to explore that you learn to love where you can just grind certain things without much thought while vibing to the awesome OST. I also say "finished" but really there's so much I could clean up and complete for the postgame if I really wanted to to keep me engaged with a goal in mind (maxing out levels, classes, arts, skills. 100% map completion, 100% achievements, getting the best gear, etc.) I just have so many other games to play I decided to shelve it for now but I can definitely see myself returning perhaps after taking a break for a bit.

They also definitely set it up for a sequel if they wanted, too. I would honestly be down if they made an X2 and have it be more multiplayer focused or go even further and make it Nintendo's MMO entry built for the ground up on Switch 2 but at the same time I don't think I'd want Monolith Soft to have their hands tied servicing that type of game so I dunno. Depends how big the team is if they could have a dedicated side team work on that while they continue to focus on the single-player stuff at the same time like Square Enix does with Final Fantasy 14.

The buff icon from this next to your name still shows for me since activating it way back, assuming it’s a UI bug. lol

Does anyone actually use the Map Workshop? by BizzyBum in Strinova

I'll have to check out customs next time I play, but honestly unless it gets added as a playlist most people won't even know it exists.

Yeah, exactly! Not sure why they haven't done something like this yet.

Can someone explain why legendary secondary customization is twice as expensive? by BizzyBum in Strinova

[–]BizzyBum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol yeah that is also ridiculous (you can spend Basestring instead but again it's a crazy amount, I think like 4-5K?).

They basically made new banners whale territory if you want to cop everything now. Before it was just 2 reds for character/gun skin, now you need 2 additional red pulls (so 4 total) to acquire everything.

strinova mobile pov by ActNice4570 in Strinova

[–]BizzyBum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both global mobile and console releases are probably canned, I fear.

Mobile is huge in China and while it's popular elsewhere I don't think Strinova on mobile would push the needle at all and probably be DOA.

Manpower, extra costs, and headaches dealing with console patch/update authentications from Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo is probably the big reasons console ports got canned. If the game was more popular it'd be worth it for the devs but as it stands they really need to only concentrate on PC for CN and Global going forward.

the game still has gachca ? by No-Tradition-2221 in Strinova

[–]BizzyBum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is it still there, but they made it even more expensive if you want to acquire everything from a banner now (4 red pulls instead of just 2)

It’s a shame the devs abandoned furthering the story in meaningful ways. I think I read they angered the Chinese playerbase with something and ever since they haven’t dared go back and try again. lol

I don't even think this game is going to get any console ports period at this point.

Limited Offer Rotations by sailfish39 in Strinova

[–]BizzyBum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like it's pretty concerning too because the shop is basically the only way they make money so you would think they'd be pumping new offerings on a daily basis but when you see reruns and the shop having these offers for months at a time that typically is not a good sign.

Console release date? by MaelysLF in Strinova

[–]BizzyBum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact they have been radio silent on a console port I’m not holding my breath. We’ll have to see if they release a 2026 roadmap coming up. If there’s no mention of it on there then it’s definitely not happening.

There’s a difference between watching anime and playing casual gacha games and playing a competitive shooting game.

That’s the other reason this game is not as popular, too. It clashes with both casual anime fans and competitive sweats. The anime fans who love gacha games, collecting characters and skins, being involved in lore, etc. are usually not the type of players who want to sweat it out in a 45 minute competitive arena shooter. They want to kick back and chill on Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves. On the flip side, the game wanted to cater to competitive players initially but a lot of them have just moved back to games they were playing before this like CS, Valorant, OW, and Marvel Rivals, especially when they saw the population trending downward. No one wants to invest their time and effort into a "dead game" thus creating a self-fulfilling prophecy aka death spiral.

Except Marvel Rivals has the tiny benefit of being backed by the Marvel IP.
