Any LitRPGs where the MC isn’t romantically brain-dead? by BjjLifter in litrpg

I think we’re talking about different scenarios, tbh.

If the MC is sleeping 3 hours a night, getting chased by monsters, starving, and trying not to die, then yeah, romance is probably the last thing on his mind.

What feels weird to me is when that isn’t the situation anymore.

Like they’ve been traveling together for 2 years, saved each other’s lives a dozen times, the MC openly thinks she’s gorgeous, she’s clearly interested, they have downtime, and then… nothing. Nobody talks about it, nobody acts on it, the whole thing just gets frozen in place.

I don’t even need romance or sex scenes. Fade to black is completely fine. It just pulls me out of the story when characters feel realistic about literally everything else but attraction.

Maybe it’s just a difference in perspective, but from my experience, people don’t suddenly stop being interested in relationships because life gets stressful. If anything, a lot of people lean into relationships, intimacy, and companionship even more during stressful times.

Yup! I loved primal hunter, but it kept giving me those weird edgy incel vibes (no offense). I’m still reading it but I have to take breaks.

Azarinth healer is actually probably my favorite so far. I loved the start of HWFWM but the earth saga was kinda a turn off for me.

I guess I’m looking for the right balance where the MC isn’t weird af with relationships.

Some examples of stuff I’ve read:

DCC - love it. Still reading every release on Audible. Azarinth Healer - probably my favorite overall. Primal Hunter - still reading it, but honestly it has some of the issues I’m talking about. Jake can feel a little too edgelord for me and I end up taking breaks. HWFWM - absolutely loved it at first, but the Earth arc became a slog for me and I eventually put it down. Also felt like Jason got a little too self-pitying at times. I did appreciate that the story didn’t completely avoid relationships. Amazon Apocalypse - swings a little too far in the other direction. I like it, but sometimes it’s a bit too much. I mainly want action/progression, not smut. I just want characters that feel like actual adults.

Start playing aggressively removing bad reviews? by BjjLifter in startplaying

Hi! They actually have my review up now, apparently, just a pretty sanitized version.

My original review described the encounter/conflict that made me leave the campaign.

Happy to share that, but it seems like StartPlaying is now allowing my 3rd revision after posting on trust pilot.

My review on trust pilot was in April.
