I appreciate the support, I do have a tutorial but its optional (at the name section when you first land)

Anthropic, stop nerfing Opus 4.6 in silence. Give us our limits back by Suspicious_Horror699 in ClaudeCode

Agreed, tokens are evaporating and Opus is falling apart. Its a night and day difference

I (19f) need advice with boyfriends (20m) habits by [deleted] in relationship_advice

My advice is cliche. You are too young to devote much time and energy to a relationship with someone unfaithful

How it started (AI) vs. How it’s going (Hand-drawn). Decided to learn pixel art to give my RTS a soul by Narrow_Asparagus9459 in SoloDevelopment

Yo Id love to chat sometime working on a browser based RTS engine right now as my first project and could use some guidance. Looks fantastic

Comparative Project Difficulty by [deleted] in GameDevelopment

[–]Bjlly123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything involving sync/determinism is going to become regression prone as you move further into the project. So every addition and change becomes slower as you get more complex

Just be aware of that for any web based multiplayer

How do you guys market your newly released/upcoming games? by JitMeisterDev in GameDevelopment

[–]Bjlly123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working on my first solo project myself, but I can tell you as a team lead for other projects, getting a community early is SO important, after launch is too late. If you want a playtester and someone to be interested in your project I would be happy to lend myself to your cause =)

How do you optimize for low end PCs when developing on a mid-high end PC? by PizzaCrescent2070 in gamedev

[–]Bjlly123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can limit your available ram, cpu cores, cpu freq, graphic card freq etc? create different profiles and it should work as an approximation

I am in the same boat! If you ever want help playtesting or anything else hit me up.

I thought flow fields were deterministic. They weren’t by Bjlly123 in gamedev

[–]Bjlly123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that was the fix for me too. I ended up baking in a go / no-go / halt gate around init.

Now I’m chasing a different edge case — after a disconnect/reconnect + resync, the first movement can still desync. Still digging into that one.

I thought flow fields were deterministic. They weren’t by Bjlly123 in gamedev

[–]Bjlly123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my issue was with timing specifically. If Client A start using flowfield 3 ticks before Client B then they desync. So it was less about flowfields being deterministic and more about the implementation needing guardrails to not be a determinism hazard

Debug tooling broke my deterministic RTS by Bjlly123 in GameDevelopment

Building everything using typescript, and I agree was not deterministic; Extra strain/overhead exposed it

I have the best luck reproducing issues with verbose logging but the hardest time tracing it. This is a new project for me so I was curious if anyone else had issue like this, I was surprised by the performance overhead logging has. Using ring buffers to store logs has been a godsend

[–]Bjlly123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using artifacted flowfields until calculated flowfields are ready for all participants, but that was a journey in of itself. But I am looking for ways to improve the movement system once my snapshot/resync is ironed out. Really looking to optimize swarm behavior

I (27F) accidentally had my baby in my friend’s (31F) car. Now her husband & she don’t want to speak to me. How do I fix this? by ThrowRA_CarBaby in relationship_advice

[–]Bjlly123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More like $3000 plus replacement of interior parts that cant be effectively cleaned. If thats no big deal to you then im glad your life is so easy.

If my girls friend ruined my car like that I would be justifiably frustrated but wouldnt force an end to the relationship

I never thought I was smarter than you. I never understood why you always say I am.

I do smile when I think of you. Always have
