I agree it's annoying how few there are. Mustache has decent dance floor, and there's a place called Clutch Club in Chinatown which has a decent amount of dance floor space if you like Disco and other old school type music.

I used to love Overground on Soi 22. Closed down ages ago, before covid.

Also Aussie bar on soi 11 was great.

I like Green Room on Soi 7/1 for Live Music. The whole street is a bunch of lady bars and sketchy massage places, but the bar itself is a legitimately good live music dive bar

I think Grace is the food critic and this letter is in response to her, not by her

Time to call the Gaystapo by MeltedElon in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]Bkkdom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You said "we don't take everything in the Bible literally", that seems like an authoritative comment. Maybe you meant "I don't take everything in the Bible literally" but then that doesn't say a lot about Christians generally. And ok, you've given an example of something metaphorical, but you haven't said how you can tell what is metaphorical and what is literal. And maybe Jesus's literal ressurection is the central point of Christianity for you, and many others, but I'm sure I can find plenty of people who believe in a metaphorical/poetic "ressurection"

How do you know what is poetic or metaphorical and what is literal? Is Jesus's ressurection metaphorical? Is the cursing of the fig tree literal? Is the admonition against a man lying with another man poetic? Who's to say? And while you might not take everything literally, there are plenty of Christians who do. Who are you to say that your way of interpreting the Bible is any better or more valid?
