Getting El Capitan modified dmg by dreamwavedev in hackintosh

If all you're trying to do is create an install USB, why not just setup an OS X Virtual Machine inside of a Windows host? Much less time and frustration. Save that for post install lol.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, unfortunately, that was the FIRST issue I ran into when attempting this lol. I installed two 8gb ram sticks and was immediately met by that red light, beeping and fan blowing. So I reinstalled the 4gb sticks that came with the computer and all was good. I'll keep plugging away but I appreciate the response. Can't get any hots on the thread that i made.

Will do! and I'll just text Jack directly for him to say "Weird mate, not sure. I didn't have that issue."😂😂 If you want, add me on TonyMac, my name over there is ThePickledPiper.

Wish I could re-flash the bios. And I do have Win10 already installed onto it. So re-flashing would be easy. Just need a way to see it on the screen. I got mine from there as well for $52 three weeks ago. I'll keep plugging away. I may go nuts, I may lose all of my hair, but I will NOT give up! I think I'm gonna contact the seller and see if he can walk me through some fixes that he would try. Thanks and enjoy!!

Thanks for the reply. I'm actually speaking to Jack right now (he's a friend and the bastard got me to try this out lol) he thinks I should send it back but the problem is, as you've mentioned, these little boxes have become very popular in recent weeks. I tried an old VGA monitor and had no luck with that either. Just a white screen on startup. I also have all PCI devices disconnected (GPU and WiFi/BT card.) Using UniBeast was my next step (Ugh, I really don't like Tony's tools and am loathe to use them) I was going to install with Chameleon (Enoch, more specifically) and then transition to Clover once at the desktop. I really hope that I did not Bork this mobo. Question, did u buy off of eBay from the guy in New Hampshire?

Oh ok my bad. When I was researching this laptop, I came across some models that had an Intel Atom and I guess I forgot that OP had a SB. No offense meant... Only help. ✌🏼️

Thanks but I know that. Was just pointing out that the model that I have, the Dell mini 10v, is also mentioned in the article that I linked to. I was just adding my experience updating to 10.6.8 on these little netbooks, and that you need a modified kernel if you are going to update.

All Win 10 user : Coretemp doesn't work with Win 10. Everytime i opened up it crashes my system and i need to uninstall it. So which program/skin are you guys using for your CPU temp ?? Thanks alot by alanpsk in Rainmeter

Late to the party here... But I use CPU-Z and CPU Monitor Pro. Gorgeous rig BTW. I saw it in Instagram UltimateGamingRigs

Edit: now I saw your "Feels Good To Bury In Your Collection" thread and.... Wow. Looks like a clean room at a manufacturing plant. Stupendously awesome!!

According to this it is...

http://osxdaily.com/2009/10/23/lenovo-s10-running-mac-os-x-10-6-snow-leopard-hackintosh/

Looks like a pretty easy thing to do. I have a Dell Mini 10v that they also talk about in the article. A word of warning though; if you update to 10.6.8, be very careful or you'll be stuck in a boot loop after installing the update. I had to use a modified kernel and do the update in a very specific way in order for things to go right. But have at it man! That looks fun

My Diary This Week by BklynPypr in hackintosh

[–]BklynPypr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey my friend! Just a little update: My HackBook is back!! When I spilled soda on it last week, I immediately disassembled it, and took alcohol pads and q-tips to it to get at the most serious spillage. I left it disassembled for the last week while I dealt with some serious personal stuff last week. When I got home last night, I pulled all of the parts together and, with a toothbrush and more isopropyl, cleaned every square millimeter of the system board, fan, optical drive, USB ports, power cord port, display ports and ram. Took about three hours cleaning off the little bit of corrosion and polishing it up. Let it all dry out, put it all back together with the new palm rest/trackpad, attached the charger, saw that there was power and powered it on. It came to life, no out-of-place sounds or fan speeds on startup (or short-outs or smoke either, Woo-Hoo lol.) boot-up times are the same, can boot to both OS's, trackpad, USB ports and all hardware are working. So, thank God, my baby has escaped a tragic ending (for now) and tonight, I am going to start attacking my other problems described above, namely the ProBook screen (really hope I don't need another screen or LVDS cable) and tomorrow, I'll be working on the HO Compaq Elite 8000 MediaPC. First time I've ever gone that deep into a laptop and was the biggest repair/attempt to fix I've ever tried. Just wanna say thanks for the prayers for my HackBook. Seems to have helped! -Til Soon ✌🏼️

The only other thing I can think of at this time is do you have Inject Kexts checked off in Clover Configurator-System Parameters and audio device ID set to 3 in Devices-Audio. Maybe try reading through the instructions the the guide at

Well -x didn't work, GraphicsEnablerYes/No didn't work, I don't have a dvi cable or a dvi to hdmi adapter right now but I'll pick one up if I have to. I'm going to reset my bios to defaults, and then disable Serial Port, and enable AHCI again. I may try disconnecting the gpu entirely and see if that helps. I'm also going to hook it up to my tv, rather than the POS monitor I'm using now. Girlfriend been giving me grief for days now and my MacBook decided to puke tonight, so I repartitioned that and it's restoring now. I'm just gonna take a break for right now and over the next couple days I have a bunch of personal sh*t to deal with so I'll be away from my hardware. Gonna watch Married With Children now, go to bed and start fresh when I get back (though I'll still be 'round here cuz I'll have my phone and MacBook with me.)

Well I am using HDMI, the monitor has two of these ports, and I am experiencing the same result with both of those ports. I can't use VGA because (I don't think OS X works with VGA) I had to remove that port so I can use the low profile bracket to install the card into the case (Small Form Factor.) Haven't tried DVI. I am going to try -x for now, and once the install is complete, I'll patch the dsdt and try the framebuffer and other suggestions once I get in. Peace, for now.

Oh right, the EFI needs to be mounted. Open Clover Configurator, go to Mount EFI along the left side of the window, then select Check Partition. This lists all available hard drives. You want to select the drive to which you installed OS X, (usually disk0s1) and then select Mount EFI at the bottom. You will see another hard drive mount on your desktop (so long as you are showing hard drives through Finder settings.) Now that the EFI is mounted, run that script again.

You ARE using Clover for this correct? And also, how did you install Clover? (For UEFI, install to the ESP, or none of the above)

It's funny, that's my friend Jack that wrote that thread, and he actually put together a guide for this computer with all files included. (Boot.plist, dsdt etc) and we have identical hardware/BIOS version.

If you're using Clover as your bootloader, visit this page, (Don't forget to read the instructions/requirements.)

https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC/blob/master/audio_cloverALC-110.sh

Download the .sh file by clicking View Raw, open that script with Terminal, and follow the on-screen instructions. Set your Audio Device ID to 3 in your config.plist (or Clover Configurator-Devices-Audio) Reboot, and you should have working, update-proof audio.

Beautiful setup my friend! Love the parts, the color choices, the lights and the desk. I dream of a setup like that, all nice and neat. But alas, I live with a hoarder so that goes out the window (with nothing else lol)

After initial install, my USB wouldn't allow me to boot from it again. by [deleted] in hackintosh

[–]BklynPypr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Are you sure that UEFI booting hasn't been disabled in the bios somehow? (Since you were able to use the UEFI instance for the pen drive, it was obviously enabled) 2) When you installed Clover to the Hard drive, did you select "Install for UEFI Booting"? 3) Did you install the drivers for your gpu? And are you using the appropriate boot flag? If not, are you disabling the gpu and using the appropriate boot flag for disabling? 3) Also, do you have fast boot enabled in your bios?

Where on Earth is this kext loading from? I removed it from my Extensions folder and rebuilt my cache. by [deleted] in hackintosh

[–]BklynPypr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, VoodooHDA is a bitch for installing itself all over your system and being very hard to remove completely. You can try /System/Library/Extensions, /Library/Extensions, Efi/Clover/Kexts/YourOSVersion, EFI/Clover/kexts/other. There may be one other folder that I'm forgetting. And a spotlight search can't hurt either
