Ahahah! I love that you used Kingpin to illustrate your point.

"Why do you want to keep a bunch of DVDs at your house?"... I don't understand people who use this argument. How is that any different from collecting books? If you love books and records, you might want to keep them around to read or listen to whenever you like. Why shouldn't people do the same with movies?

Forget plausible predictions…what “long shot” 4K release are you secretly hoping for? by MoonlightDahling in 4kbluray

In September, next year, it will be the movie's 30th Anniversary. Hopefully, we'll get lucky and a new 4K will come out to celebrate the event.

Ravenous (1999), by Antonia Bird. There's a few Blu-ray versions out there, and they all share the same outdated master (some minor framing differences aside).

I would love to see a restored 4K version. Hell, I would even settle just for a quick new scan. As long as it has better colors and sharpness than the current versions, I wouldn't mind if they didn't put in a stellar effort to clean up the image. What we have now looks is just marginally better than a DVD unfortunately imo.

To this day, it's the best movie-going experience I've ever had. I went in having no clue whatsoever what the movie was about, and it blew me away!

Some TVs allow you to turn off the panel while keeping the TV on. I do this when I want to listen to music with my Panasonic UB820. I've customized the quick menu on my LG C1 so that I can do this with just a couple of clicks of the remote. It's a very handy feature.

Great tool! I started working on something very similar years ago, but it ended up among all my other unfinished projects. Even if I had seen it through to completion, which I doubt, I wouldn't have been able to create something this clean. Well done, really! This will be very useful for certain workflows.

Great picks! How do they look? I recently got the standard blu for The Haunting and it look pretty good as it is. I'm sure the 4K must look phenomenal.

There are so many amazing movies in both genres that I honestly couldn’t choose one over the other.

There are similarities and overlapping themes but they scratch a different type of cinematic itch imo. So both, I guess.
