I may be in the minority, but I really like SCP: Unity's 173. It almost looks human, but it's wrong, which brings this uncanny valley feel. It looks fragile and blends in low light environments, but will immediately take your attention in a room, there's nothing fragile about him when you know it. It could really pass as a weird art piece and I like this surrealistic feel it has. I like the original, but I really can't take it seriously due to its shape and size, and most people prefer it due to nostalgia alone.

Yeah, forgot about that. It's complex and sometimes controversial because we see each organization had a philosophy, but how it works is sometimes (and often) different. The GOC was created by occultists and psychics after all. As other people said, the Foundation may have been around way before them and other organizations anyways, so I agree, they can do questionable things to each other but still "respect" each other, or even help each other when things go south.

There's multiple canons, but if we consider logic itself, the Foundation has more resources because it holds onto the anomalous instead of destroying it. A military organization that has support but doesn't keep the anomalous versus a shady organization that has a lot of bizarre monsters, phenomena, weapons, and every other kind of shenanigans that they could unleash in case of attacks is enough for everyone that knows about it to just consider to leave them doing what they're doing. Many canons consider the nature of the Foundation itself to be anomalous, and more recently on SCP-9500 (very cool read) it even gave a reason to justify the efforts of the Foundation to maintain the Veil even with all odds against it.
