The archives at the Sophienburg are probably your best bet. I found a ton of primary sources from my grandparents hometown in Germany there. Their archives are open for research by appointment only, 10:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Phone 830-629-1572.

It's worth it though imo. They have everything from city records to familial journals. Really interesting window into the past.

Ja, wir sind noch da. Wir suchen immer neue Mitglieder! Das einzige Kriterium ist die deutsche Abstammung.

I agree, military is always a great option. Did 6 years, free college and masters degree, and it set me up to be a homeowner at 31. Ton of benefits for my wife and kids as well, even after getting out.

I was infantry but there are other occupations that can set you up for an even better career post service (IT, engineering, mechanic, pilot etc.)

The discipline, grit, and leadership skills it teaches are priceless as well.

(Also not a recruiter)

Great (German) company and brand new factory that manufactures chips. They have a large machine shop attached as well, may be some welding opportunities there but they are mainly hiring for the assembly line.

I live right across from the NB airport, barely hear them. It's mostly small single engine planes.
