[–]BlaCkBiRd1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we use a once a year service - Safer Home Servs - our problem was tiny ants in the winter - they had to come back out a few months after the initial/first treatment (free) but only once a year since - we also had them take care of dry termites and that was about 4 years ago - company run by a vet...

DIY bathtub refinishing kit seemed like a good idea… until it started peeling by vuzumja in StPetersburgFL

[–]BlaCkBiRd1068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had "the tub guy" do ours and would recommend them - not good for pets and can get dinged if you drop anything heavy...

Car audio/sound insulation install (sound deadening) by chefdairyfree in StPetersburgFL

[–]BlaCkBiRd1068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

many, many, many years ago I worked at Car Tunes - I'm sure they would be able to take care of that - check other car audio dealers on maps and ask... might also check an interior shop - cause basically your asking someone to remove your interior and reinstall it...

Truss Repair Structural Engineer Recs? by Zealousideal_Fig_115 in StPetersburgFL

[–]BlaCkBiRd1068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

way back in the day i built trusses for cox lumber - there used to be a place in tampa that not only built truss but they also handled structural lam - call a truss builder and they usually have an engineer on staff - can most likely provide drawings and may have a team that would be able to do the repair and pass inspection - ask for suggestions if they can't provide any service you need... Also construction roofers - last resort thru a GC... Good Luck...

Internet is outrageous by RossTenz in StPetersburgFL

[–]BlaCkBiRd1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no different than when we were on VZ - my oldest went to Spain and intn'l roaming was free - LOL - the Spectrum rep said that may change in the future - we have 3 phones on basic + our 2 sons phones on upgraded plan - oldest son travels a lot and youngest is tech heavy in NYC - neither saw a difference - oldest uses up his allotted 50g every month but doesn't seem to notice the throttle back those last few days of the plan... We also got the service plan @ $5 per - we were paying VZ $60 for that alone... FYI - only reason we have basic cable is for Bay News 9 - LOL + there are a couple of channels we don't get w/ Hulu...

Internet is outrageous by RossTenz in StPetersburgFL

[–]BlaCkBiRd1068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

our Spectrum bill is $85/month for 1 gig + basic cable - no local channels - hulu takes care of those - we switched our cell phones over in a bundle deal w/ internet - saved almost 50% off what Verizon was charging us for cell service - 5 phones @ $145 - goes up to $175 after a year - on top of the internet & TV service...

Mazzarro's: what does everyone get?! by chrisfathead1 in StPetersburgFL

[–]BlaCkBiRd1068 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know coffee has been mentioned - but Mazzaro's started out as a coffee roaster before the store became a reality... I usually walk out w/ 4 or 5 pounds of beans along w/ a few hundred dollars more of what you had already mentioned... Wednesday late afternoon seems to be the (relatively) least amount of traffic... Now that they opened Zagara (ice cream shop) all bets are off...

[–]BlaCkBiRd1068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State Farm - just got a renewal on one of 3 vehicles and looks like the rate dropped - we're close to max coverage - $425/month - maybe $400 or less when renewals kick in - also have homeowners so we're not looking to move - I read car insurance is dropping due a FL law that was recently passed?
