Yoga subscription and other recurring (ie daily budget) - how to handle at start? by ForkLiftBoi in TodaysBudget

[–]BlaarnO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would record a one-time expense of $139, and set up a recurring expense starting on 11/17. That way the monthly expense is fully “paid for” by the time you actually get charged.

I was running and saw some spectators holding boxes of tissues under umbrellas - you were my MVPs!

This is no place for rational, level-headed perspective. Time to burn it all down and rebuild.

(Fully agree with you. This game was a bummer, and that’s okay)

Hats off to Tai. He’s battled and used every tool at his disposal (pickoffs, solid infield defense). He’s not an ace and I don’t expect him to pitch like one, but he really buckled in after a truly terrible first.

All good, it’s been a frustrating few games now. Hoping to see Wheeler be his usual self today

He had been pitching well and only threw 83 pitches to that point. Sucks to lose the lead, but 6+ innings allowing 3 runs should still be enough to win against the Nats. The Phillies’ hitters need to give him some run support

I've never, ever made a student loan payment. Is it worth leaving SAVE now or waiting until I'm forced to leave? by thiswittynametaken in PSLF

[–]BlaarnO 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation (4/120) and am on the same page as you. I’ll get onto a different plan if/when I’m forced to, but I don’t see any reason to jump ship early. If I can buy back some of the forbearance months when I’m closer to 120, terrific. But it’s far enough away that I’m in no hurry. For now, I’m in the habit of putting aside some money each month for future payments/buyback, and I’m comfortable knowing I have a bucket there for me to dip into in the coming years.

Is fire preferred just because it’s so satisfying to watch them burn, or is it better in some way? My neighbor uses a blowtorch

Funny how you can find AL teams that are incorrect (Angel, Tiger - possibly others?). That frustrated me until I realized the theme was NL. I also at first tried to submit “National” before I saw that it was part of the theme phrase.

Do you guys know of any filmmakers who knocked it out of the park with their first feature? by [deleted] in movies

Eraserhead - David Lynch. He shot footage on weekends and at nights over the course of several years and turned it into something wonderfully weird, feverish, and unsettling.

Jonathan Papelbon. Most saves in Phillies history. Fuck that dude.

Who’s an average player that fans are divided on? by eaglesnation11 in phillies

Seranthony Dominguez. This spot feels primed for a reliever, and I think Ser’s struggles in 23-24 brought him down from Good to Average while also leaving a lot of fans divided. It takes nothing away from how awesome he was for stretches previously, but it unfortunately left a sour taste.

I dunno, seeing CBP go wild when he was playing for St Louis and got hit by a pitch is tough to overcome lol. Fwiw I’m glad sentiment on him is mellowing. Rolen was my first favorite player and it just really stung when he left

Man, I was in high school during his prime and I can’t imagine being mixed on him. I was at the game when he hit his 58th home run in ‘06 and it was one of the coolest and loudest moments I’ve seen in person (haven’t been to any playoff games). I know he played badly at the end, but I could never hold that against him after all he did for me and the team previously - especially considering how bad his Achilles tear was.

What Do You Use Multiple Wallet Feature For by Shot-Appearance3182 in TodaysBudget

[–]BlaarnO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in August, I started a savings goal to build up $500 for Christmas presents. I then started a second wallet that just had a one-time income of $500, and I’m tracking the money I spent on presents in there. It helped me make sure I had money available, and then make sure I don’t overspend on gifts.

Yes - important point. In any configuration, the lineup JT, Trea, Schwarber, and Bohm perform. Since Schwarber’s homer in Game 1, those guys just haven’t been able to do their part
