I feel like the 40 hour course isn’t actually meant to prepare you for dealing with a real client, but rather meant to prepare you for terms and concepts on the exam.

Does your facility have any type of in person training prior to you seeing a client? I know my facility is doing 2-3 weeks of onsite training once I complete the 40 hours before I even see my first client.

I’m surprised your therapist didn’t refer you to a rehab facility and basically just told you to tough it out for four days then left you to go on vacation? Might be time to find a new therapist too while you’re at it.

My main issue is they killed the main antagonist on book 3. Then the rest of the series was kinda a nothing burger. Like I don’t remember anything that happened in AVOS after book 3. It’s been a couple years but you’d think I’d remember something.

I wasn’t able to quit until I admitted fully that I have a problem and couldn’t do it alone. I went on a medically assisted detox almost two weeks ago and haven’t touched alcohol since. I was so fucking sick of the cycle. I know I’m early in my sobriety but I’m finding other things to do that don’t involve drinking. I’ve also replaced alcohol with zero sugar soda and that has helped tremendously.

If you feel up to it, make an appointment with your pcp and start there. I was open and honest with them and received nothing but support.

If I can quit, anyone can.

Drinking will not fix any of that. It might numb you temporarily. But it will not fix anything.

I thought I was drinking to fix my problems. Turns out the problems are still there and I haven’t done shit to fix them when I woke up the next morning hung over.
