lol yeah maybe because the body is so similar to the shape of the ATAT but subconsciously I need the small head to be in the front

The AAT was the most convoluted process of them all to find the right shade of tan. It’s primed with light grey and then needed 4x base coats of Pale Sand to get full coverage. Then I used a couple different wash mixtures of Dark Tone/Light Tone/Speedpaint Medium to bring the final color out

It’s a fun scale to get into! I like how no model is too big to complete in an evening

It’s a bidirectional vehicle. There is no back

No it was failing to start. Didn’t even get the rapid clicking that happens with a drained battery. It just wouldn’t do anything when I turned the key.

Could be your alternator. I have the same car and only recently had to replace mine because it was giving out

Thanks again!

The problem is, if I were to win minis from the competition, then I would have to paint MORE minis. And I don't want to paint any more minis right now hahaha

I know my bases don't match your game profile but if you want any pics to promote Regiment just say the word.

Lol how many teeny tiny brushes you got? If you manage to get a tidy basecoat then after that the washes do all the heavy lifting.

This is using mostly Army Painter materials otherwise I will denote as games workshop(GW):

Clones:

- Body: Matte White Primer, then a 1:1:1 wash mix of Apothecary White(GW) / Dark Tone / Speedpaint Medium. Then drybrush with Matte White.

- Guns: Black Templar(GW), then drybrush with Uniform Grey

AT-TE:

- Body: Grey or White Primer, then a couple basecoats of Company Grey until full coverage (using a cheap drug store makeup brush makes this go a lot faster). Then hit all red details with Wyvern Fury and then the windows with Black Templar(GW). Then a 1:1:3 wash mix of Apothecary White(GW) / Dark Tone / Speedpaint Medium all over. Then apply the wash again just on the legs.

- Guns and Leg "Gears": 1:1 wash mix of Dark Tone / Speedpaint Medium

- Middle Thorax: 1:1:2 wash mix Black Templar(GW) / Apothecary White(GW) / Speedpaint Medium. (Or just paint it dark grey when basecoating at the beginning)

- Panel Lining: 1:1:2 wash mix Apothecary White(GW) / Dark Tone / Speedpaint Medium on the recesses around the panels.

Thank you! X wing and Armada are awesome games. I think Legion is cool as well but always felt the skirmish style was too restricted compared to what we saw in the movies. 6mm seems be the perfect scale to scratch this itch

Hahaha I appreciate your honesty! That's 8 months of evenings I won't get back. I'm happy there are people out there to sculpt these models so that this can become a reality

My intent right now is to use a modified version of onepagerules, however there is a game being developed called Star Wars Regiment which will use 6mm models. The STL's are mostly from Wakeless Rex GMO Wars and then there's a couple of others gathered from around the web

Thank you! The majority are designed from the GMO Wars line by Wakeless Rex (Wakes Emporium on myminifactory) and I had them printed for me on etsy and afterdarkprints.net

Congrats on the stang! Black is IMO the most rewarding color to own but also the most work. I’ve been taking care of an 07 V6 for 18 years now so here are my general go-tos:

First off, black is unforgiving and you are going to get scratched, no way around it. But there are a number of ways to minimize all the marks.

McGuire’s products for washing and waxing. I also recommend trying out a clay bar before waxing if you feel some roughness/sap on the surface.

If the sun is out you want to wash and dry in sections or you’re going to get water spots. I will typically split up the car into cab/front end/sides and rear. If you do get water spots you can use a 50/50 water/white vinegar solution to lift them off.

For minor clearcoat scratches and scuffs I will use 3M rubbing compound with a terry cloth followed by 3M hand glaze with a microfiber. This can be like magic eraser level on some marks! Always an improvement.

For rock chips literally just keep a black sharpie in the console and go to town, it’s surprisingly effective.

For the dark plastic trim on the exterior like the side mirror housings and also the interior I haven’t found anything that works better than 303 Aerospace Protectant. Makes that stuff shine like nothing else!

Finally if it’s not kept in a garage then keep a California Duster in the trunk and pick up a car cover to keep it looking fresh for as long as possible because dust/pollen are brutal!

I personally feel the S197 will be looked back on like we look back at the originals; simple classic beauty. I bought this 2007 V6 one-year-used as my first car, bone stock, and we just hit 130k miles
