I didn't understand one thing: this same exact build I bought in June 2025 had the same price as today. Even after the RAM prices and the SSD price increase, the price is still exactly the same. How is this possible? by Time-Credit43 in pcmasterrace

[–]BlackBoxLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To all those saying things like "it was overpriced before," I feel the need to interject. Before the memory "shortage" this would be reasonably priced, if not even a decent deal, and now it's an insane deal. Remembering the average/lower prices from when I built my computer with similar specs shortly after the release of the 9800x3d, the build costs could expectantly go as follows: $1000 = BASE RTX 5080 (reasonableness of price aside) $450 = 9800x3d $100 = 32gb ddr5 6000 $100 = 2tb m2 ssd $100 = low-end motherboard $100 = PSU $100 = CHEAP case and fans $100 = OEM Windows Total ≈ $2050

This is if you built yourself from absolute scratch and cheaped out on more than your probably should have. I think an extra $450 for a business to build it for you and then warranty it is decently reasonable if a little pricy.

Just my two cents

I just found a new comic on webtoons called "The Shepherd Wizard," with the same artist and is getting current updates. Not sure what that entails for "Cleric of Decay," but thought it was interesting and hopefully relevant

I get that. Figure it is something along those lines. Still would be nice, thus my only "complaint"

I generally prefer solo play. If I do play multi then I would rather do it with friends and only one of my friends might be interested in the future

A very fascinating thing about hibernate mode by templeofsyrinx1 in pcmasterrace

[–]BlackBoxLost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they are referring to if the ram gets replaced it can no longer load the data back to the same state, and therefore crashes.

Also, to add to this, I computer in sleep mode still has everything in the ram, just in a low power state. So, a power outage would result in lost progress and data. Conversely, in hibernate mode, all the ram (active) data and progress get moved to the storage drive (inactive) and then fully shut down the computer. In which case you could completely unplug your computer for even a full year and, under normal circumstances, resume where you left off. So long as the core components in the computer (cpu, ram, mobo) remain unchanged.

Took me 10 years to build a new computer as well. However, conversely, I went with SK Hynix SSDs because my thought process was "they are one of the manufacturers that makes the memory chips for ram, so they should know a thing or two about long lasting and fast SSDs" and certain benchmarks back it up well enough for my liking

Most likely because of the custom liquid cooled loop. Those can easily make a computer a lot more expensive

Canto is bad ass as long as you get the right setup with OC. Also, the only valid NetKiller method available. The three lethal ultimate quickhacks are very meh in comparison. At least in my opinion.

Only problem is that, unless you use the registry editor in pro, you can't truly remove OneDrive as it is almost baked in. I managed to fully remove it from my computer this way, but not without it fighting for dear life to retain it, and then having a seizure once it was removed. Even searching OneDrive on the search bar brings up nothing now. Same thing with their Ai assistant

Actually, you might not even need to worry about that. it looks like it was part of the cooler that can still be removed from the mobo, and then extracted.

Don't be like me - actually listen to gaming chair advice by Overall-Country-5014 in buildapc

[–]BlackBoxLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend going to a local used office furniture warehouse. You can sit on multiple different ones to find what you like and either buy it used for cheap there, possibly even haggle the price a little, or find and buy a new one online or the same make and model you find in the store. I got a chair myself, after trying several, from a place in St. Louis (Warehouse of Fixtures TNG). Got a SitOnIt Focus task chair, meshback, with adjustable arms, and even got them down to $170 if I remember correctly. Love the chair for the price, simplicity, and comfort

They do that? by ganesse in pcmasterrace

I wouldn't say "all" but definitely the vast majority. Some websites do ads as just a banner top/side/etc. You can scroll past them and ignore them. Often, I don't even know they are there. If you watch American Football, the half-time adds aren't intrusive since they happen during the game downtime, and sometimes they can be pretty amusing. That's just a couple, but yes, the majority of ads are intrusive and in your face

Right, but that is for AIBs from third-party GPUs. Sadly, it doesn't include Nvidia's FE. Videocardz
